Early this afternoon, I’ll have to button up the CatBox and fire-up the AC.  Starting tomorrow, the high will hit the 90°s, setting the pattern for the next week or more.  So, on this last relatively cool morning, I’m skipping my morning rest to get my work done, enjoying fresh air for the last time in a while.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:24 (average 5:46).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Yesterday’s Cartoon:

Many of you had forgotten, so I’ll explain.  In 2011, Sarah Palin marked the campaign headquarters of House Democrats with gun sights.  One of those bullseyes targeted Gaby Giffords’ HQ in AZ.  On 1/8, an insane Republican terrorist, Jared Lee Loughner, shot Gaby and others.  Ever since, I have called Palin, Bloody Bullseye Barbie.

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Parody Project Channel): THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND (Parody)

In a word… Amen! RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): President Trump Campaign Chair Paul Manafort Sent To Jail To Await Trial (17 min.)

I hope that a few days in lockup are enough to convince Manafart to flip on his Fuhrer. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From Daily Kos: The United States is expected to pull out of the United Nations Human Rights Council in the coming weeks after U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley threatened to do so last year, accusing the council of a “chronic anti-Israel bias.” There’s still no official word, but unnamed sources tell Reuters the move is “imminent.”

I actually like the idea. The spot on the council should be held by a government that believes in human rights. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From  Raw Story: [D]onald Trump threatened Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe he would ship 25 million Mexicans to his country, one of a series of bizarre missives that jarred fellow leaders at last week’s acrimonious G7 meet, according to a report on Friday.

The Group of Seven summit gathering of top industrialized democracies finished in disarray after the US president abruptly rejected its consensus statement and bitterly attacked Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Behind the scenes, Trump’s counterparts were dismayed by verbal jabs on topics ranging from trade to terrorism and migration, The Wall Street Journal said, quoting European officials who were present.

The total number of undocumented people in the US from all nations, not just Mexicans, is 12.5 million. Therefore, Trump’s suggestion includes deporting over 12.5 million US citizens. If that isn’t racist, what is? RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

Cartoon:

We need it now more than ever.

  1. 5:23 Hope you have a big freezer.

    Ooops.

PP – New Mexico is experiencing Texas steaaling its water and selling it back for fracking – not as widely known as Nestle. I did see one ray of hope this week which I’d like to share.

Rachel – I hope he is well protected against both real and fake suicide myself. Rachel’s describing the actual proceedings is very effective. Maybe even more effective than cameras would have been. Storytelling. The devil is in the details – and Rachel certainly gives more details than anyone else. I particularly noted that, after three marshals took him to another room, one of the marshals returned and handed his tie, belt, and wallet to his wife.

DKos – With our current regime, we are not fit to serve on anything with the United Nations. We should be kicked out of G7 also.

RS – It doesn’t even make sense on the face of it. Japan? Why Japan?

Cartoon – With every advance in technology, we need it more. We will need it next year even more than we need it this year.

    • “RS – It doesn’t even make sense on the face of it. Japan? Why Japan?”
Isn’t it obvious?  It’s because the methane from caterpillar farts is what’s causing ALLEGED “global warming”.
Do I have to explain everything to you Libtards?
(Bet you didn’t know I speak fluent Trumpian Scatology.)

      • I’m not sure any Trumpian can say or understand “methane” – but other than that, your command of the language is astonishing.

Not to mention so funny that you just published your Saturday Smile after all.  I literally LOLed.

  2. PPC: Excellent !!!

MSNBC: Awesome!!! This reads better than a Tom Clancy novel, by far !!!

RS: Good gawd, the ID has lost his mind. Completely!!!

    Cartoon: Yep, sure do!!

Hope that you have a relaxing afternoon/evening, take good care, and Thanks, Tom. It actually sprinkled here this morning, I was worried, as I (we) got the house painting done this a.m. yay

  3. PP: Don has produced some battle song to take into the next elections there! 02

Rachel Maddow: The gall Manafort has to try and turn the tables on this judge is beyond belief. He’s indicted in two separate cases, just heard a number of further indictment and then tries to blame the justice system for contacting and tempering with witnesses while he’s on bail, which he got on the condition he shouldn’t contact anyone concerning this case. “Aw, judge, if they had just told me I couldn’t contact x, y, and z because they’re witnesses, I wouldn’t have done it. It’s all your fault. So just give me a list of all possible witnesses and I wont contact any of them.’, promise. [I’ll just have someone else do that for me]” I hope the key goes missing for a while and all electric connections in his cell fail at the same time for days on end.

DK: Drumpf wants Venezuela, China and Saudi Arabia removed from the UN Human Rights Council, and he wants to remove the US from it as well. That leaves only one conclusion possible, doesn’t it?

RS: I’m not going to waste any of my valuable time on the rantings of a demented man.

Hope you had time enough to get some fresh air before the heat wave set in, TomCat.

  4. The USA pulling out of the UN’s Human Rights council would be unfortunately appropriate. And if this happens because of a “chronic anti-Israel bias” (the B.S. meter just went into the red zone!) that will play right into the hands of anti-Jewish creeps. Maybe without the corrupt USA the HR council will actually be able to get some stuff done.

Thanks for the clarification on the cartoon. More proof of just how deep the GOP is in the NRA’s pocket.

  5. PPC: So right on!
Maddow:  Poor, poor, Paulie baby!  Just like his former boss with the orange wigs…no ethics, no morals, no conscience, blames everyone else, can not take the “Personal responsibility” that the rest of the GOPIGS can’t do either, but want everyone poorer than they are to take!
DK: How fitting that the newest Nazi regime is not going to be on the Human Rights council anymore!
    RS: Jackass!

  6. TY TC ?

  7. Thanks all.  Pooped hugs! 19

  8. Puzzle — 3:36  Almost but not quite . . . (sigh)

I knew I had seen this cartoon before and the first thing I thought of was Gabby Gifford and Bullseye Barbie but then I doubted my memory.  Who wouldn’t with so many mass shootings in the US!  Good to know my first instincts, even though I did not articulate them, were spot on.

Parody Project — What more can I say but AMEN!!!

MSNBC — Personally, I think it was the correct thing to do.  I wonder if he will be segregated from other inmates to prevent him from accessing witnesses through them.  Good on the judge!  Drump’s reaction only proves just how stupid and lame-brained he is.

    “Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
Wow, what a tough sentence for Paul Manafort, who has represented Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other top political people and campaigns. Didn’t know Manafort was the head of the Mob. What about Comey and Crooked Hillary and all of the others? Very unfair!
    10:41 AM – 15 Jun 2018 “

    Daily Kos — I agree with you JD! . . . 150%!!!

Raw Story — “Trump’s suggestion includes deporting over 12.5 million US citizens.” — should that read “residents”?  In any event, racist . . . yes; bigoted . . . yes; discriminatory . . . yes!  Another reason why the US should be kicked out of the UNHRC, not just allowed to leave.

Cartoon —  Glass-Steagall yes!  But the US needs FDR for protection of all social programmes that the Republicans have vowed to deep-six.
