Bill – Monologue – I guess the R’s were only against Russia when it called itself “Communist” and “Socialist.” (Not that it really was – but those are forms of government which, if done right, are for the people.) As soon as the USSR btoke up and Russia went into naked authoritarian dictatorship, it became Republican gold. (And these are the people who call us “unpatriotic.” God give me strength.
Zakaria – So Donald Trump has realized this is really complicated. But does Donald Trump even have a clue what “complicated” means? How complicated complicated can be? Well, those are obviously rhetorical questions. Does anyone besides me wonder whether the whole North Korea thing is merely another distraction? This time, among other things, from gutting CHIP?
Dyson – Hoo boy. This has got to be interesting. Although not uniformly pretty. So many people need to listen to this… and of course it is exactly those people who won’t. I often consider how much rage I would feel if I were black. Then when I look at how the vast majority people actually act, I am so impressed by their restraint.
New Rule – Not surprising that Bill made everyone’s list. Indeed, symbolic victories are the only ones we get – for now. (At least if you don’t count special election victories. Since there hasn’t been a general election since 2016.) But if we don’t have any enthusiasm, we won’t have any real ones. I’ve said before that Bill is really good at throwing cold water on things that give liberals hope. I don’t suppose he’s trying to kill hope, just overconfidence, and overconfidence needs to be, if not killed, at least sat upon. (And just one personal peeve neither I nor anyone who is out there working for progressive candidates or on GOTV writes the clickbait headlines. We know they are clickbait. The blogs have to compete somehow.)
P.S. Google translate won’t give you actual characters in non-English languages unless your computer is set for that language. As near as I can tell, the phrase is pronounced “gubuligi” and looks something like this:

Well, you have sophisticated equipment, and you probably have a lot of languages installed. I see “square-square-square-square.” But I’m glad you see the same as this – that means I did the research correctly.
