This morning, while researching this article, I listened to the dedication ceremony of the new, misbegotten US Embassy in Jerusalem.  Playing a key role in that ceremony were two evil Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christian Dominionist hypocrites.  They could not be more opposed to authentic Christianity.  They claim to be supporting the peace of Jerusalem, but they pray and prey for bloody war.0514HageeJeffress

Monday’s ceremony marking the relocation of the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem will break with tradition in more ways than one.

Besides the political concerns over the move itself, a pair of Christian evangelical leaders will be on hand whose words have caused their own share of controversy.

Pastor John Hagee, the founder of Christians United for Israel, will deliver the benediction at the ceremony, a spokesman for his organization confirmed to CNN. A major proponent of the embassy move, Hagee said in a recent interview with conservative news site Breitbart [Breitfart delinked] that he told President Donald Trump he would win "political immortality" for moving the embassy from Tel Aviv.

"I told him that the moment that you do that, I believe that you will step into political immortality," the news site quoted Hagee as saying. "Because you are having the courage to do what other presidents did not have the courage to do."

Meanwhile, another controversial evangelical pastor, Robert Jeffress, will say a prayer at the embassy opening, a US official confirmed to CNN. Jeffress, a Southern Baptist, vigorously supported Trump during the final months of the 2016 presidential campaign and was a member of his evangelical advisory board. He even preached at a private service for the President-elect and his family on Inauguration Day in 2017, shortly before Trump took the oath of office…

Inserted from <CNN>

CNN seems most concerned with the Church/State issues involved here, but that does not begin to cover the reasons why these two are so inappropriate.

Part of their Dominionist eschatology is that Jews must control Jerusalem, so they can rebuild the Jewish Temple.  Once that happens, the "tribulation" starts.  Republican Supply-side Jesus, the exact opposite of the real Jesus, poofs pseudo-Christians into heaven.  During the tribulation, 2/3 of the Jews are slaughtered and go to hell.  The remaining third are spared, because they convert to pseudo-Christianity.  Then everyone else gets tossed into the lake of fire and suffers in flames for eternity.  This is what Hagee and Jeffress want for Jews.  Here’s Hagee telling part of it.

BARF BAG ALERT!!

Jeffress has said that Jews are going to hell, and Hagee has called Hitler a "hunter sent by God."

These two represented the Republican Party this morning.

RESIST THE REPUBLICAN REICH!!

  1. “In truth, there was only one Christian, and he died on the cross.” – Friedrich Nietzsche

  2. BBA: Such hateful, vile people!!!

  3. So many people are laughing at them for thinking they are going to fulfill prophecy. My thinking is, “What if they succeed?” What if they succeed on bringing about the greatest, most vicious evil the world have ever seen, and, in fact ending it? Serving God. I guess we need to start screaming, “Yer doin’ it wrong!”

  4. In truth, Jesus was not yet a Christian, as there was no such thing at the time.  He was a Jew upsetting the status quo.  If the stories are accurate, perhaps we can say that Paul was the first Christian.
In any case, the second that Hagee whispered that into tDump’s ear, tDump thought he simply had found an eternal center stage better than any he’d ever imagined.  Sadly, it is all mythology.  Sadly, people are going to die because of this, who might not have otherwise.  The entire Rapture story is man made, just as all the other “Known” endings of the world that have come, and gone previously.

  5. So, on the news just a moment ago, we already see violence related to the embassy change.  Jared, he of no import beyond having a dumb father-in-law in a place of power, spoke some words at the unveiling of the building that will be the new embassy.  Oh, gee, has he got some real estate conflicts of interest there?
Superstition is going to be the grim reaper, once again!

  6. Remember when Trump said “TWO Corinthians” back at Liberty university?

He was just joshing.  Of course he knew it was St. Paul’s SECOND letter to the Christian community in Corinth, Greece shortly after Jesus’ crucifixion.

The fact that he added: “Boy, do those Two Corinthians really know their leather.  And they really do support our Constitution’s Two Amendment.”

Well, he was just joking with you.

    (WHAT a EFFING DOOFUS!)

  7. *sigh*

  8. but they pray and prey for bloody war.

And this is a textbook case of the “preying” part.  Previous Presidents didn’t move the embassy, not because they lacked courage, but because they realized doing so would be an empty symbolic gesture which would inflame dangerous real-world consequences.

Already thousands of Gaza Palestinians, whipped into violent rage by the Islamist equivalents of Jeffress and Hagee, have tried to storm the border fence with the openly-expressed aim of breaking into Israel and killing people there.  More than fifty of them paid with their lives — the first casualties of Trump’s stupid symbolic gesture — which will make it easier for the extremists to enrage people again next time.  If, as is likely, the embassy move provokes terrorist attacks against Americans, people like Hagee and Jeffress will exploit the resulting deaths to inflame their own followers.  And on and on.

The Christianist and Islamist extremists want violence and rage and hate, to keep people fighting each other, because that empowers the extremists.  Trump is not one of them, but he played into their hands.  People need to realize that the real enemy is not a different nation or civilization, but rather is the extremists themselves.

  9. “… Hagee … that he told President Donald Trump he would win “political immortality” “

Damn, I was hoping for political immolation!  I guess that is going to take a little longer since it is DIY!

    I agree with Infidel

“The Christianist and Islamist extremists want violence and rage and hate, to keep people fighting each other, because that empowers the extremists.”

But I would also add Jewish extremists to the mix.

As to Drumpf, he is not an authentic Christian.  I don’t even think he is a pseudo Christian.  He is a hedonist drawing his pleasure from extra marital affairs, bullying, money, power and his narcissism.

  10. Infidel has the key.  Extremists, whether Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu or Atheist, are the problem, whenever they insist on imposing their beliefs on others.

    Thanks all.  Hugs! 35
