Subpoena for the Fuhrer?

As we learn more about the list compiled from Mueller’s briefing to Trump Lawyers, we learn that Mueller said that, if Donald "Putin’s Pervert" Trump, Fuhrer of the Republican Reich, refuses to give Mueller his testimony in a voluntary interview, then Mueller will subpoena him to testify before a grand jury.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller warned he could order Donald Trump to testify as part of a probe into alleged Russian election meddling, US media report.

Mr Mueller suggested the move during talks with Mr Trump’s lawyers in March.

The threat to issue a subpoena, as it is known, was reportedly met with a sharp response from one of Mr Trump’s former lawyers.

It is believed to be the first time the special counsel has raised such a possibility.

Mr Trump’s lawyers insisted during the meeting that the president was under no obligation to face questions by federal investigators in relation to the Russia inquiry, the Washington Post reported.

However Mr Mueller’s team reportedly responded by suggesting they would issue a subpoena if Mr Trump declined. They agreed to provide the president’s lawyers with more specific information about the questions they wished to ask Mr Trump…

I would LOVE to see it!

Lawrence O’Donnell covered this story in two segments.  In the first, he explained the story and its background.

In the second, he discusses Mueller’s authority to do do with a panel.

Can you imagine the fecal storm that will flood from Trump’s upper sphincter when that happens?

I also look forward to the guaranteed perjury if Trump testifies.

RESIST THE REPUBLICAN REICH!

  1. It’s a fairly obvious point to anyone who has been exposed, through experience or reading, to criminal justice systems in general and our Federal one in particular. It certainly does mean something that Mueller had to say it at all, to lawyers; but that may have been to address an attitude that it’s different when the perp is the President (some ways yes, other ways no.) I do wonder why it is coming out now and only now. Maybe it shocked entitled, privileged Rudy Giuliani?

    RESIST AND PERSIST !!!

  2. Don’t care whether Twitler does it voluntarily or he gets subpoenaed – but I can’t wait to have him testify under oath!

  3. Closing in on him, which I’m glad to see dt hide under the Resolute Desk. He deserves everything coming to him.

This just in: Facing critical decisions in the Russia investigation, President Donald Trump has hired Emmet Flood, a veteran attorney who represented Bill Clinton during his impeachment process. The White House announced the hiring not long after announcing the retirement of lawyer Ty Cobb, who has been the administration’s point person dealing with special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

  4. The hell with a subpoena – what the Orange Ogre needs is a straitjacket and a rubber room.

  5. The straitjacket and rubber room will come after the Empty Orange is jailed for treason, or whatever.
Perjuries is what I’m anticipating.  After all, he’s been practicing since taking office, the WP claims that he’s reached 3,000 lies since taking office.
Giuliani  was on the Hannity show in an “Exclusive” exchange of horse pooh, earlier, or maybe still is.  This is akin to Nixon and Haldeman giving one another hand jobs.

    • Prisons in the United States are really, really bad at dealing with mental health issues (thanks so much, Saint Reagan!)  Solitary confinement I can see, but not the straitjacket or the padding.  But – we’ll see.

  6. I, for one, will be waiting with baited breath pay for the pay per view to watch the proceedings, if it ever happens!!!

  7. Kudos to Roseinstein for growing a pair.

Giuliani has not wrapped up Mueller’s investigation in two weeks and now needs a few weeks to come up with a strategy for how to approach Drumpf possibly being interviewed bu Mueller. Read that as: Panic! Mueller can indeed subpoena Drumpf and we haven’t go a clue how to stop Drumpf from shooting his big mouth off.

So what to do to divert attention: have Giuliani say in an interview Wednesday night that President Trump reimbursed his lawyer Michael Cohen for a $130,000 payment to the pornographic film actress Stephanie Clifford before the 2016 election. That should hold the wolfs at bay for while. Yeah, right.

Can’t post the cartoon, but here is the link.

  8. Excellent piece by Lawrence.  According to his take, which I agree with, it appears that the Drumpf legal team, and indeed Drumpf himself, are seeking to dazzle us with their footwork.  By that I mean they are obfuscating all sorts of matters no doubt in order to sink the investigation.  With this amount of legal manoeuvring, there is no doubt in my mind that Drumpf is trying to cover up his guilt.

Interesting, this leak by Drumpf’s legal team and Dowd.  This also sounds suspiciously like obstruction of justice by these lawyers.

There is no doubt that Drumpf will further add to his legal woes by perjuring himself the minute he says he swears to tell the truth!

As I listened and read, I kept thinking of that song, She’ll be coming around the mountain, only for me it was He’ll be coming around the mountain, referring to Mueller and he will be driving the law and subpoenas, not 6 white horses.

  9. Thanks all!  Hugs! 18
