I’m still feeling pretty wretched with coughing and congestion, and I’m trying to get back to bed ASAP!!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:22 (average 5:53).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (GQ Channel): The Trump Voters Who’ve Had Enough

This is why I doubt that the Fuhrer will run for a second term. I’d rather we flip the House, and impeach Trump AND Pence. RESIST!!

From YouTube (Jeff Merkley Channel): Senator Merkley Speaks Out Against NLRB Nominee

Even though there is nothing we can do to prevent Senate Republicans unilaterally conforming Robb the Robber, Jeff’s message hits home. Oregon leads the way! RESIST!!

From Washington Post: Leigh Corfman says she was 14 years old when an older man approached her outside a courtroom in Etowah County, Ala. She was sitting on a wooden bench with her mother, they both recall, when the man introduced himself as Roy Moore…

…Alone with Corfman, Moore chatted with her and asked for her phone number, she says. Days later, she says, he picked her up around the corner from her house in Gadsden, drove her about 30 minutes to his home in the woods, told her how pretty she was and kissed her. On a second visit, she says, he took off her shirt and pants and removed his clothes. He touched her over her bra and underpants, she says, and guided her hand to touch him over his underwear…

…Two of Corfman’s childhood friends say she told them at the time that she was seeing an older man, and one says Corfman identified the man as Moore. Wells says her daughter told her about the encounter more than a decade later, as Moore was becoming more prominent as a local judge.

Aside from Corfman, three other women interviewed by The Washington Post in recent weeks say Moore pursued them when they were between the ages of 16 and 18 and he was in his early 30s, episodes they say they found flattering at the time, but troubling as they got older.

Evidently Moore takes after his Fuhrer. RESIST!!!

  1. 6:05  I don’t see any squirrels.

In view of the events at the Country Music Awards, I think I should share an older Randy Rainbow.  Because it’s new again.

Keith # 146 – Oh, Keith, you’ve made me cry!  You’ve made me cry fair and square.  “Of all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these, ‘It might have been.'”  I need to add, since he mentions his book, that I don’t have a Kindle, but have learned through Daily Kos that Amazon has an app for PCs (and other desktops and laptops) which will allow one to read Kindle versions on one’s plain old computer, and the app is free.  (Of course you still have to buy the book.  But the Kindle version is usually a few bucks cheaper.)  I haven’t tried Keith’s – I did get a book called “The Big Book of Andy” (Andy is a tuxedo cat, and it is very heavy on graphics.)  I can testify that it works.

Jeff – You have a good Senator.  My Democratic Senator is, I believe, on board with this, but not leading.

WaPo – Yes, this was also discussed at length in the comments on the Daily Kos article I appended (late) to a comment on yesterday’s lead article.  It’s hard to say what effect, if any, it will have.

Cartoon – That’s an awfully low bar.  Most of them are MUCH higher than that bar, although, of course, there are always a few who aren’t.

  2. Keith: Maybe these newly aware fools will help the Dems get congress Back?  The rest of the fools who would vote for him again are beyond reclamation!
WaPo: This story has hit the e-mail, and who knows what other circuits!  The timing may be wonderful, as the Alabama special election is set for Dec. 12th, in the pseudo-Christian, bigoted, bible belt!  Bigoted, you might query?  Well, no-one reading this, but, yeah, they voted for his pig in the primary, did they not!!
    ‘Toon: Muddy in Paradise?

  3. KO: WelI said, Ididn’t look at it this way, as far as the numbers went. Very depressing and sad.

Mr. Merkley: Tom, can I borrow Mr. Merkley to clone him to come to Texas? Yea….that would be great!

WaPo: What a disgusting, sick POS! He doesn’t deserve a seat, he deserves prison time!!

Cartoon: I’d take a team over banksters any day of the week, just mo.

Get your rest, stay warm, and drink lots of fluids. Hope you start feeling better. Take good care, and Thanks, Tom.
*Joanne, I viewed Randy’s clip yesterday, and I do so enjoy watching this young man rise to stardom. He sings so well, and I just love his songs. Thank you for posting his video here. (an extra treat for me). Thank you!!

  4. Keith Olbermann #146: Too much crying over spilled milk, Keith. It’s bad enough as it is, don’t rub it in. Fact is we have the GOP and the Drumpf voters to thank for the international disaster that is called Drumpf. And the worst of it is that 91% of them still thinks he’s going to save them and America. Don’t forget the elitist DNC who pushed the least-liked Democratic candidate of all time over the one who could have won over those 9% percent of Drumpf voters who are now seeing the error of their vote, regardless of Russian meddling. And if they don’t change their ways and embrace progressives, like Jeff Merkley, in their party, the mid-terms will not change anything and Drumpf will be able to ruin the world for the remainder of his term.

Jeff Merkely: Kudos for continuing to resist, to never falter and to persist in publicly denouncing the people Drumpf nominates with only one thing in mind: undo everything his predecessor has done, no matter what, and plunder the country and divide the spoils among himself and his his billionaire friends.

WP: This won’t change a thing for Republican voters. All these men who stand accused of sexual abuse hide behind “They were different times back then, people thought differently about it then,” and “Those girls were there willingly, they were flattered and liked it,” resonating with all the older men who have done exactly the same as Moore, or at least would have liked to do so and, sadly, with those women who were brought up not to resist and in their young vulnerability felt flattered.

Hope you feel better soon, TomCat. Take good care of yourself and take lots of rest over the weekend.

  5. Thanks and sick hugs!! 19

  6. Madame Clinton won the popular vote, and would have been our first female POTUS if not for that dinosaur the electoral college – which is a legacy of the dark days of slavery. If I recall correctly, every candidate who won the popular vote but lost the electoral count was a Democrat.

Too bad the molestation charges probably won’t implode Moore’s campaign, thanks to the GOP’s “old boy” network that would cover up for him if he had been caught drowning kittens.

  7. Puzzle — 5:07  Looks like the park near me where I go walking when my knees permit.

YouTube — Indeed!  A seemingly insignificant fact buried in the minutiae of poll analysis!  9% of Drumpf voters now regret their vote and that 9% would have been enough to avert the national tragedy that is currently playing out.

Jeff Merkley — Thank God Jeff is taking the helm on this for the American workers.  Lord knows the Republicans are only interested in one thing — raping and pillaging the country for its resources and its work force.

Washington Post — Republican family values at work!  This is the same man that wanted to keep a statue of the 10 Commandments on the grounds outside the court house.  I wonder how many he broke and how many times?  Hell, there isn’t enough time nor space to enumerate them all!  Roy Moore needs to resign but I doubt he will.

Cartoon — AMEN!!! At least the team can wash the duds and the players.  How do you wash a bankster?  They already launder things and yet they still come out dirty!

Sorry you have the cold but rest is best for it. I have it too and have been lying low the past 2 days which is why I can’t sleep right now.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
