Here is the ninety-seventh article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honoree is Republican Senate Nominee Roy Moore. He is so honored for his proven Ammosexual, White Supremacist and Dominionist stances on virtually every issue.

0927roy_mooreRoy S. Moore, a firebrand former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, overcame efforts by top Republicans to rescue his rival, Senator Luther Strange, soundly defeating him on Tuesday in a special primary runoff.

The outcome in the closely watched Senate race dealt a humbling blow to President Trump and other party leaders days after the president pleaded with voters in the state to back Mr. Strange.

Propelled by the stalwart support of his fellow evangelical Christians, Mr. Moore survived an advertising onslaught of more than $10 million financed by allies of Senator Mitch McConnell, the majority leader. His victory demonstrated in stark terms the limits of Mr. Trump’s clout…

Inserted from <NY Times>

Since Trump abandoned Strange while appearing on his behalf and seemed so pleased that Moore won, I have to suspect that the only reason he supported Strange at all was because Bought Bitch Mitch didn’t want another Senator he can’t control.

Lawrence O’Donnell discussed Moore with his panel.

I owe you all an apology for never having put Moore on parade before.  He combines all the worst traits of Trump and Pence, making him a most representative Republican, who certainly deserves his parade.  If he wins in December, Ted "Uranus" Cruz will no longer be the most insane Republican  in the Senate.

RESIST THE REPUBLICAN REICH!!

  1. Yes, IF he wins in December.  There are a few people saying that his winning of the primary puts the state into play for a possible Democratic victory.  Thirty years ago I would have agreed, and even now it’s possible.  The Democrats have an excellent candidate, Doug Jones, a former prosecutor with victories against the KKK on his resume.  But he will need help.

IANAL and I have not checked this out, but a few people I trust say that the Constitution of the United States prohibits a person who has been removed from office office from ever running for any office again for life.  If only the Alabama constitution had such a provision!  We wouldn’t be having this discussion now.

  2. Sad that a loss for the Empty Orange, puts a putz like this in a position to gain an elected office; does not say a lot for Alabama.
Will be back for the Bannon story, later.  I have to be able to enjoy dinner, first.

  3. Roy Moore and Luther Strange: small choice in rotten fish. Equally rotten fish. Moore is a bugnut who has no business running for governor. Maybe Alabama has a shot at getting its first Democratic guv since Siegelman.

  4. Hopefully a democratic victory in AL in December will be seen, I sure would put my vote on Jones.

  5. stunned this guy is 97th???  he is a real loon……..but there are so many crazies in their party

  6. I hope Joanne is right and it is possible for a dem to win in Alabama!  Moore should not hold any political office.l

  7. Roy Moore is a loon, but a dangerous, racist loon, and that’s the way Drumpf likes his loons even though when in Congress these Tea Party/Freedom Caucus loons oppose everything GOP leaders bring to the table, including the bills Drumpf himself covets so much. So for a short while Drumpf let himself be persuaded by Mitch McConnell to back a not so loony GOPer who’d vote to repeal and replace Obamacare and “tax reform”, but as soon as Strange lost, Drumpf went back to being his own obnoxious, stupid self again, switched (i.e. erased from memory) and backed the loon close to his heart.

And still the GOP won’t drop Drumpf, and by letting the GOP voters elect “the craziest S.O.B.s”, they soon will stop functioning altogether and won’t even have enough votes to impeach Drumpf. The question remains whether he’ll have enough votes left for his tax cuts. Maintaining that it will not increase the deficit because it’ll pay for itself may not be enough to convince these crazy S.O.B.s

  8. For someone who should know the constitution, Moore has flown in the face of it and should have burned up.  If, as JD has noted but not verified, it is illegal for Moore to run for office because of a criminal conviction, then he needs to be stopped now, assuming of course that it is a federal conviction.  If it is a federal conviction, Drumpf could pardon him although would he?  Does he want to pardon this low life who is not likely to repay the favour with loyalty which is something Drumpf is big on.  And Moore is no authentic Christian, his hate for LGBTQ being so palpable.

This character is so ripe for a parade . . . all the way down Main St and back!

    • Neither of his removals from judgeship was a federal conviction.  They may not have been convictions at all, actually.  It was a state agency which removed him.  Not that “removal from office” as used in the Constitution needs to be a conviction either, but it has to be removal from a Federal office, and he was always a state judge.

  9. Thanks all.  Hugs! 09

Doug Jones should hide all evidence of putting KKK clansmen behind bars.  In Alabama, that’s three strikes against him.
