I have very little to add to this piece.  Please click through and read it in it’s entirety.  Trump picked Dowd as his personal lawyer, because they share the same world view.

Breaking: Trump condemned Islamic terrorist attack in Barcelona and insinuated that the ‘radical Islamic terrorists’ should be executed with cartridges soaked in pigs’ blood.

President Trump’s personal lawyer on Wednesday forwarded an email to conservative journalists, government officials and friends that echoed secessionist Civil War propaganda and declared that the group Black Lives Matter “has been totally infiltrated by terrorist groups.”

The email forwarded by John Dowd, who is leading the president’s legal team, painted the Confederate general Robert E. Lee in glowing terms and equated the South’s rebellion to that of the American Revolution against England. Its subject line — “The Information that Validates President Trump on Charlottesville” — was a reference to comments Mr. Trump made earlier this week in the aftermath of protests in the Virginia college town.

You cannot be against General Lee and be for General Washington,” the email reads, “there literally is no difference between the two men.”… [emphasis added]

You know, both Jefferson Davis and Robert E Lee specified that they DID NOT WANT any memorials to themselves or to the Confederacy.  Lee explicitly stated (I’m paraphrasing) that nations which do not memorialize losers recover from civil wars faster and better than nations which do have such memorials.  A user on Daily Kos pointed out that if either were to be resurrected for a day, what they would say would most likely be the time-and-place equivalent of, “Did I fucking stutter?”

    Lee’s descendants are weighing in, reminding people of his wishes, adding their own wishes that such statues should be removed.  And if you really want an earful (well, an eyeful), google what Johnny Cash’s children and Stonewall Jackson’s descendants are saying.

    • Republicans care not what Lee’s descendants think, because this has nothing to do with Lee and everything to do with Republican hate and racism. 01

  2. Just got done reading what Stonewall Jackson’s descendants have written, and I’m in agreement, take them all down. They should have been removed years ago, imho.

  5. That article makes you want to cry or throw up.  It is hard to believe we have people, so many people, who believe this way.

  6. I know there are people who believe this regurgitated balderdash; we wish there weren’t any left, all convinced by rhyme and reason that there is no basis for their thinking. Sadly that isn’t so, and we’ll have to live with it. What we don’t have to live with, and in fact must never allow to continue is that men with these distorted fanatical visions are directly linked to the administration and are allowed to spread their deplorable argumentation in that capacity and by doing so have the public believe it’s legitimate and the truth. It doesn’t matter that Dowd is a personal lawyer of Drumpf, and has the ear of the president. It’s unconscionable that he sends out this message to journalists and government officials as if it is a governmental directive. Dowd is abusing his position to further his, and most likely Drumpf’s agenda without either owing any responsibility for it,owing and should be made to leave.

This hate and bigotry is an infection of the worst kind.  It is an infection that permeates from the top of the current administration through to the People’s House.  Some would say that the neo Nazis and white supremacists have the right to free speech under the constitution.  But when that free speech incites violence against others, when that free speech serves to infringe on the rights of others, when that free speech serves to completely exclude whole populations of people from their rightful place in society, that is no longer free speech but hate that must not be allowed to flourish.  This free speech is not what the framers of the constitution had in mind.  How do I know this?  Because of this line from the Declaration of Independence: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

    That there is a solicitor that is willing to abrogate those rights is reprehensible and should be disbarred.

    I am not saying that these people do not have the right to believe what they believe, but rather they do not have the right to spread this poison when it runs against the common good and the rights of others.  One’s rights end at the tip of their nose.

    • They have the right st say that they are superior and other races are inferior, just like I gave the right to say they should be shunneds for daying it.  They do NOT have the right to instigate or encourage violence. 05
