Yesterday the building had still not bled-off enough heat to be comfortable, but this morning, I could finally turn off the AC for the first time in days.  I did get some sleep, but I need more.  I’m waiting for Store to Door to deliver groceries this afternoon.  This evening Wendy is coming to de-stink the TomCat, who has stunk since an hour after my shower on Sunday.

From YouTube (GQ Channel): Why Are We Appeasing Trump? | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann

I agree with Keith on everything he said, except for one thing. Overthrowing Trump will not stop the hatred or abuse of power. Trump is where he is for one reason. With very rare exceptions, Trump personifies the politicians in the Republican Party. Putting Pence or Ryan in the White House will be just as bad for America, as is having Trump there now. RESIST!!

From Washington Post: President Trump’s administration will revoke a rule that gives the Environmental Protection Agency broad authority over regulating the pollution of wetlands and tributaries that run into the nation’s largest rivers, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt said Tuesday.

Testifying before Congress, Pruitt — who earlier said he would recuse himself from working on active litigation related to the rule — said that the agency would “provide clarity” by “withdrawing” the rule and reverting standards to those adopted in 2008.

The earth is far too precious a ball to sacrifice it to Republicans that don’t have any. RESIST!!

From TPM: Former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin filed suit against the New York Times Company on Tuesday, alleging defamation following a June 14 Times editorial that the paper later said incorrectly tied political violence to incitement.

Specifically, Palin alleged that the Times knowingly linked one of her political advertisements — which showed rifle crosshairs hovering over certain Democratically controlled congressional districts — to the 2011 shooting at an event held by one representative under a crosshair, Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-AZ).

After a shooting at a Republican congressional baseball practice on June 14, which left Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) in critical condition, a Times editorial asserted that, in the case of the Giffords shooting, “the link to political incitement was clear.”

“Before the shooting, Sarah Palin’s political action committee circulated a map of targeted electoral districts that put Ms. Giffords and 19 other Democrats under stylized cross hairs,” it added.

The Gray Lady did not link Palin to the Gaby Giffords shooting. Bloody Bullseye Barbie linked herself to it.

  1. 4:12  I think I see the baby bananas (or maybe not), but either way, nothing edible yet.

Keith #91 – While I doubt there is anyone who wants to see Dolt.45 permanently behind bars more then I do, I do know a little bit about what happens when prosecutors bring perps to trial without evidence (and, sometimes, even WITH evidence).  I said PERMANENTLY behind bars, and I mean PERMANENTLY.  And along with anyone else who participated in what is morally treason, even though the Constitution and the law may not call it such – it’s serious enough without that word.

WaPo – I do realize the Doomsday Clock is ticking.  But how will we feel if we pounce too soon and the serpents get away?  I fear we only haveone chance.  (I’d love to be wrong.)

TPM – Ah, yes.  The party of personal responsibility.  Yeah.  Right.

Cartoon – And another monument we are likely to lose – though how they figure they are going to drill there, I can’t imagine.  But they will find something.

  2. KO: Spot on, Keith.
WP: What you wrote, Tom. I agree.
    TPM: Oh,……ick!!!
    Cartoon: Sad.
Hope that you have a good evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. We should note that the NY Times did publish a correction to their Op-Ed:

    Correction: June 16, 2017
An editorial on Thursday about the shooting of Representative Steve Scalise incorrectly stated that a link existed between political rhetoric and the 2011 shooting of Representative Gabby Giffords. In fact, no such link was established. The editorial also incorrectly described a map distributed by a political action committee before that shooting. It depicted electoral districts, not individual Democratic lawmakers, beneath stylized cross hairs.

  4. Keith: As per Joanne’s comment, acting too soon would be much to our disadvantage.  This scum, and his crowd, need to be tried under the most clear-cut circumstances, with the most clear-cut evidence tat can be garnered, and that takes time.  It may be too much to wish for the removal of Pence, and Ryan, as well, but I can dream,  can I not?
    WaPo: Bastards!
TPM: Hopefully, Ms.Hockey Puck will be funding her suit by herself, though I am not quite so naive to really think so.  In any case, I hope the funds required are large, and wind up wasted!
Cartoon: Should the Stonewall loose its official designation, it will still stand for sooooo much.  Somewhere in the future, the building may even be demolished and something else put in its stead, but it’s legacy will stand.

  5. Keith Olbermann:

… we are appeasing Trump. The nation which should be in the streets, holding a general strike, fighting to restore the rule of law that is dissolving in front of its eyes is instead utterly divided, or distracted, or both…

I find myself quoting Keith more and more, because he really says it all and there’s little or nothing to add. This time I had to stop myself from quoting the full content of this video where he also gives his view on how the Democrats and the media are appeasing Drumpf. But I think it all comes down to the first one: us, the nation. If the nation would really take to the streets, and not only peacefully “attack” Drumpf but also the GOP, the Democrats and the media for appeasing him, only then things might truly change.

WP: Meanwhile, while the nation is “instead utterly divided, or distracted, or both…”, the GOP and the Drumpf administration are quietly destroying this planet. Stepping out of the Paris Climate agreement isn’t enough, no the clock has to be turned back on regulations to pre-Obama times. Make America the greatest polluter again!

TPM: If you’re almost completely forgotten in politics, sue a newspaper in Drumpf style. That’ll get you back in the spotlight. Any publicity is good publicity, right?

Cartoon: Remembered on pink Saturdays all over the world.

  6. Thanks all.  Hugs.

I agree that there has been no specific link proven, between Palin’s invitation to do violence and that specific Republican nut job, the number of terrorist incidents committed by Republican nut jobs following invitations to commit violence by Republican hate-mongers is inductive proof, though not deductive proof.  When Republicans call for violence, it is certain that, from time to time, Republican nut jobs will do it.01

  7. Puzzle — 3:52  I went bananas!

YouTube — Isn’t it amazing that in a country where the rule of law is supposedly valued, the chief executive only relies on the rule of law when the results favour him.  Moving too fast, before the i’s are dotted and the t’s crossed on all the evidence, would condemn the country to more Drumpf time, and that is intolerable.  I wonder what would happen if the resistance started playing the game the way Drumpf does?  I don’t mean with lies and innuendo but with hard facts that cannot be suborned.  This might be difficult since Drumpf has told various agencies not to respond to Dems looking for info.  What if the press stopped going to WH briefings?  As I recall some saying, they are nothing but lies.  Don’t give more press time to the liars. As Sir Walter Scott said “O what a tangle web we weave when first we practice to deceive.”  Drumpf has lived his whole life in deceit and lying, and will not change now.  What if the press stopped following the first family around like a bunch of little puppies?  After all, Drumpf craves attention, and he does not like negative attention.  An illustration of my point can be found in an episode of Star Trek: Next Generation.  Mr Data was playing a game like chess against a computer.  He had lost a lot previously. Then Data changed his parametres for the game — while the computer played to win and presumed Data did too, Data altered his goal to play for a draw.  He won a game.

As to Drumpf, he should be a permanent resident of the prison system, no Club Fed, no special privileges, no Twitter.  Wouldn’t that be wonderful!  I also agree that the Dems and all Republicans need to answer for their transgressions.  Ultimately, the people must come together and rise up.  It happened in 1776, it can happen again.

WaPo — Just like a Republican — going backwards!  Make America Polluted Again.  I wonder if Drumpf would like a ball cap emblazoned with the saying.

TPM — The Times did not retract the editorial but did correct it.  Undoubtedly, all Palin is interested in is a big payout.  Any time she opens her mouth, she defames herself.

Cartoon — Now THAT is a national monument, one that should be preserved as a reminder of how the LGBQT community has come and as inspiration for further action.

    Resist and Persist!!!

Sorry I did not make it in yesterday.  I had a busy day and was extremely tired.
