Store to Door is closed for the holiday week, so I’m getting a grocery delivery today from Safeway.com.  Their delivery fees are higher than Store to Door’s, and they just leave the bags instead of handing me one item at a time, so putting everything away is much more work.  I’m not complaining.  They have good products and good service.  I’m celebrating Thanksgiving a day early tomorrow, because Wendy is bringing dinner with her when she comes to do her normal deodorizing of the stinky TomCat.  Is she a gem, or what?  She’ll be bringing her niece, so I’ll get to stuff and purrrr bookended by two gorgeous women.

Today’s took me 2:44 (average 4:38).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Congrats to Rob for leading the league.  It will take far more cosmic chaos to get me out of last place.

Short Takes:

From NY Times: A panel of three federal judges said on Monday that the Wisconsin Legislature’s 2011 redrawing of State Assembly districts to favor Republicans was an unconstitutional partisan gerrymander, the first such ruling in three decades of pitched legal battles over the issue.

Federal courts have struck down gerrymanders on racial grounds, but not on grounds that they unfairly give advantage to a political party — the more common form of gerrymandering. The case could now go directly to the Supreme Court, where its fate may rest with a single justice, Anthony M. Kennedy, who has expressed a willingness to strike down partisan gerrymanders but has yet to accept a rationale for it.

Given the Injustices the Fuhrer will appoint to SCROTUS (Republican Constitutional VD), redistricting that does NOT favor Republicans will soon be illegal.

From YouTube (GQ Channel): Look What Happens When You Criticize Trump

Keith has given us an excellent description of what Henry David Thoreau meant when he wrote Civil Disobedience. RESIST!

From Common Dreams: The Atlantic published a video on Monday that shows attendees of a white nationalist conference giving Nazi salutes and cheering as movement leader Richard B. Spencer, who has been credited with coining the term "alt-right," delivers a speech describing the U.S. as "a white country designed for ourselves and our posterity…it belongs to us."

Barf Bag Alert!!

Welcome to the Fuhrer’s AmeriKKKa.

  1. 3:48 – Pretty.

NYT – Apparently The prosecution has a rationale for determining partisan gerrymandering which has at least a chance of convinceing Kennedy.  We can hope.

YouTube – Yes, I knew John Adams had that blind spot, and it has always made me very sad.  I fully appreciate and endorse Keith's advice on resisting by breaking unjust laws.

CD – Barf indeed.  I am the choir here that you are preaching to so I think I will pass for now.

Cartoon – It IS a lot of work.  I can get away with getting delivery once every two weeks, and I meet the delivery at my door with little shopping carts on wheels.  He doesn't seem to have a problem with sorting by cold/frozen versus shelf-stable which helps me manage my time and effort.  But even so, it's a lot of work, and probably worse for you.

  2. YT: Go, Keith!! Kick their A–. Well said! RESIST!!

CD: Scary. I sure don't need 'you'! Hateful rhetoric, with nazi salutes. ugh!!

Cartoon: Aww…I'm fortunate to be able to still move around, to lift a 25 pound turkey to defrost for the dinner, and understand how difficult it is for those who have difficulty with grocery delivery day. Happy Thanksgiving, Ladies & Gents, and enjoy your day! Enjoy your evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom. Gotta run!

*Thank you, Joanne for line for Free Press. Signed, Thank you.

  3. U-Tube:  "…and Americawill kick your ass!"   I only hope!!!!!!!!!!!

Common Drems:  It seems hard to believe that these people are my fellow citizens, mind blowing!  "Fellow citizens," by name only!

Cartoon: Now, that's one happy kitty!

  4. Looks like someone was raiding the fridge in the cartoon!

  5. Puzzle — 3:10  I could handle sitting around a patio like that providing there was always a gentle breeze, I wasn't in the sun, and it wasn't too hot.

Fantasy Football — Well at least I am not in the lowest depths of the cellar.

NY Times — If the Wisconsin case hits SCOTUS, let's hope it is before a new Injustice is appointed.

Youtube — WOW!!!  Kick some Trump and company ass so hard they turn inside out!!!

Common Dreams — I saw this elsewhere today and was so sickened by it. This type of hate and fascism was beaten back 71 years ago . . . or so I thought.

Cartoon — Are there 3 more in there with you?  My 3 would gladly live in the refrigerator!

Happy Thanksgiving  . . . a day early!  Give Wendy a big Canuck hug please.  She has been very good for you and that pleases me very much my friend.  While you're tucking into dinner, I shall be at the podiatrist's, and like your feet, mine have been great.  It is my understanding that it pays to look after the feet, especially when they are large.

  6. Sorry, I need to go out and will be back to comment later in my day, I hope.

  7. I hope you've enjoyed your early Thanksgiving, TomCat. No doubt being pampered by two women has given  you many of the reasons for you to be thankful for, Drumpf's election not so much.

NYT: At least the Federal courts are still functioning as the should, but after Scalia is replaced by his clone or worse by Drumpf, that'll soon be gone too. Time for some real grassroots opposition, because elections will become even more rigged in favor of Republicans than now. Yugely rigged.

YT(GQC): "Come after our resistance, Trump, legally or culturally, or both, and America will kick your ass." "RESIST." "PEACE."
    Amen to that, Keith Olbermann.

CD: Sorry, I couldn't watch beyond the first Hail and the hands going up. I cried and was glad my mother died three years ago and hasn't have to see what America, the country she cherished as much as she did Israel, has turned into.

Cartoon: Glad that's over then. Come out and relax and have a great Thanksgiving!

  8. Thanks all!  Hugs!!
