White House? Alt-Right House!!

The Republican Reich is moving at full speed to consolidate power as the Fuhrer makes appointees to its cabinet.  I’ve covered Bannon’s Nazi views before, but there a lot more you ought to know about him.  The position he will be occupying is the same one held by the infamous Karl Rove in the GW Bush Reich.  OMG!  I’m going to miss Rove Rat!

Anyone holding out hope that Donald Trump would govern as a uniter — that the racism, sexism, anti-Semitism and nativism of his campaign were just poses to pick up votes — should think again.

In an ominous sign of what the Trump presidency will actually look like, the president-elect on Sunday appointed Stephen Bannon as his chief White House strategist and senior counselor, an enormously influential post.

Many if not most Americans had never heard of Mr. Bannon before this weekend, and for good reason: He has kept a low profile, even after taking over Mr. Trump’s campaign in August. Before that, he worked as the executive chairman of the Breitbart News Network, parent company of the far-right website Breitbart News [Breitfart delinked], which under Mr. Bannon became what the Southern Poverty Law Center has called a “white ethno-nationalist propaganda mill.”

Mr. Bannon himself seems fine with that description, telling Mother Jones last summer that Breitbart was now “the platform for the alt-right,” a loosely organized group of mostly young men who believe in white supremacy; oppose immigration, feminism and multiculturalism; and delight in harassing Jews, Muslims and other vulnerable groups by spewing shocking insults on social media…

The Gray Lady as barely scratched the surface.  Rachel Maddow dissects his hateful background for us in horrifying detail!

I have only one word sufficiently vile for me to describe this evil monster.  Bannon is a Republican.

  1. I have signed some petitions, but I don't think we are going to shake him loose.  And even if we did, there are plenty who could take his place and be just as bad.  If I come up with anything positive, I will certainly let y'all know.

Later – https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/how-bannon-flattered-and-coaxed-trump-on-policies-key-to-the-alt-right/2016/11/15/53c66362-ab69-11e6-a31b-4b6397e625d0_story.html – it just keeps getting worse, actually.

    • I haven't been able to come up with anything optimistic.  I do, however, note that the photo you used looks very much like one of those "separated at birth" combos.  But Bannon doesn't always look that sunny.  I came up with a couple of different combos, both of which are HORRIBLY unfair to the other party, I know that, but still possibly amusing.

  2. I'm sure Bannon will loudly denounce any media reporting the truth about him as liberal left wing liars and Drumpf will keep stumm. Republicans have already started to play down the appointment of Stephen Bannon as Drumpf's chief White House strategist and senior counselor, as they have played down the bigotry, racism, xenophobia, misogyny and complete unfitness for the Presidency of America's president-elect. They are shown how to do that by master ignoring-what-is-in-front-of-him, House Speaker Paul Ryan, who has no problems with Bannon's  anti-Semitic white nationalist ideologies, even though Bannon attacked him personally, in Breitbart.

I have to admire Rachel for sticking to what she believes in and laying bare the horrors that are soon claiming the White House. One can only hope she's allowed to do that for the next four years, or however short long this Fifth Reich is going to last. Kudos to you, Rachel.

    • Ryan has shown himself to be a fact-dodging, responsibility evading, f*****g piece of shit!  He wears this "What me worry?" kind of facial un-expression very well.

The Maddow tape will not run.  I've signed petitions against Bannon ,but do not hold out much hope for a change.

  3. Scary video, with Rachel explaining. ugh.

    OH, boy!!!!

  4. Background checks on Bannon? Sure, to see whether, or not, he is sufficiently sick!

What have I said about the scuz that will coalesce around The Empty One?

  5. Thought we were screwed before – but this ongoing "normalization" of Bannon by the "liberal media" (particularly looking at YOU, NBC/Comcast) is nauseating.

"Kyrie, eleison" – Lord, have mercy

  6. Well, we all ready knew Trump was a racist, misognynist, xenophobic, monster.  Why is anyone really surprised that he selected Bannon?  He fits well with Trump's beliefs.  Heaven help us, because no one else will be able.

  7. As I said in the OT: I believe it was Vladimir Lenin who opined "if you control the media you control the people."

Bannon, as head of Breitfart, certainly would know that.  He will use this and his WH position to further his alt-right positions.  Drumpf with his xenophobic, racist and misogynistic beliefs, and Bannon the anti-semitic, xenophobe and miogynist, deserve each other but not in the WH.  Neither deserve the people nor their respect.

  8. Oh dear, I don't know what to say – this is so awful.

I did see this article (if it has been noticed before, apologies)

    http://billmoyers.com/story/voter-suppression-laws-working/

It is something we have noted on this site before that the Repugs have been stopping voters from voting…

  9. Thanks all!  Hugs!!
