My physical terrorist, Courtney, kicked my butt today.  She is thrilled that she has an International reputation, because of us.  I was very pleased with my progress.  In my speed test I dropped from 44 to 32 sec., and I increased my walking time with a walker from 40 seconds to over a minute.  I had been doing sets of five of all my exercises and Increased them to sets of ten.  In short, getting off the Lyrica was a very good move.  However, I’m way pooped.  This is my only article today.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:34 (average 6:02).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

  1. Cartoon: Oh, how funny! I saw several Texas politicians that were dressed like that here!! Babin, Cruz, Abbott, Miller, Farenthold, to name a few…..

Sounds like a good report, and Courtney is helping you gain more time in your exercises. WTG, on your times! Now you can set back, and relax. Enjoy your evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  2. 5:14  If those are gray-white flowers, I'll eat them.  Well, except you will have the first chance so I probably won't get any.

Good results and you have every right to be pleased and even proud.

Cartoon – Good grief – No wonder you were hurting!

  3. 3:49  I don't know if this flower is edible, but if so, don't let those petals tickle your palate too hard.

Cartoon — Definitely a Republican with his head so far up his ass that his tongue is tickling his tonsils!

Congratulations Puddy Tat!  I know all too well the amount of work and dedication required for such progress.  Time for a short celebratory drink, or maybe a special dinner, and then back to work, one day at a time.

  4. Congrats on the splendid progress!  (Is Courtney on your Christmas list?)

Always a kick to see a standard-issue republican at Halloween … and ONLY at Halloween!

  5. You really are improving with those stats!  Way to go, TC!

Cartoon:  I would love to see a Republican admit this!

  6. A personal note:  I am so ready for 2016 to be over.  I told you about my cousins, Phillip and Kara.  In addition, my 87 year old mom has been in the hospital six times since April, and in rehab for 2 months to get her back on her feet.  I finally got to bring her home.  Today I learned that my 10 year old cat, Gracie, is going blind and there is nothing that can be done.  Good grief!

    • That is so sad about Gracie.  I hope she isn't in pain.  Cats have lived happy lives without sight, on their own (just don't move the furniture) and occasionally with another animal acting as a seeing eye.  There's a book, "Homer's Odyssey," (a 21st century CE book, not the Greek epic) about a blind cat named Homer.  It's a hanky alert of course, but in a good way.  And you can google "pwditat," though in that family it's the dog who is blind.  BTW it's not that I don't care about your humans, of course I do, but I have no stories handy to offer to them.

      • Thanks, Joanne.  She has been bumping into walls for the last couple of weeks and I was worried so I took her to the vet.  She told me not to move any furniture so Gracie would know where everything is.  She isn't in pain, But I hate it for her.  She is a rescue, at least a year old and pregnant when I took her in, and she is a love bug.

    • Good to hear that you finally got to bring your mother home, Edie, but I'm sorry about Gracie. From personal experience I can  confirm what Joanne already has mentioned: cats adapt very well to going blind, especially when it's not a sudden event and have time to get used to it. It took a trip to the vet's for something completely unrelated to learn that one of my cats was going blind. He had gotten more cautious when walking around but I had put that down to him getting a bit older (about your Gracie's age). He had a few good years left in him in which he preferred to go outside to do his business and lay in the sun whenever possible. He had no trouble finding his way around and through the cat flap, was respected by the other cats and was a happy and affectionate cat until years later his kidneys gave out on him.

      • Thanks, Lona, that is encouraging news.   I have a screened porch that my cats love to go out on, and Gracie has chased birds from inside it since I have had her.  I noticed she wasn't doing that this year, now I know why, she couldn't see them.

    • Edie, I'm sorry about you're kitty.  Has she been an indoor cat?

      • Thanks, TC, yes she is an indoor cat.  I rescued her as a stray, pregnant cat, and brought her inside with my other cats.  She has outlived the ones I had then and has never wanted to go back outdoors since I brought her inside.

  7. Yeah, that Lyrica can make you tired. I couldn't use it because I ate everything in sight, too!

Hope you are feeling better, TC!

  8. Good thing you stopped with the Lyrica, TomCat, because improving your mobility, as you clearly have, is very important. Have you been given something else or are your phantom pains more bearable as your physical condition becomes a little better each week? Note I only speak of your physical fitness as there's no room for improvement on your mental condition and mobility. With that you'll be able to make it through to November 9 largely unscathed, whatever the outcome.

But you have to leave off wearing that silly costume, that'll do you back in. Store it in the back of the closet, chances are you'll never get to wear it again.

  9. Thanks all!  Rushing Hugs!!

  10. TC, keep on truckin'!  What a lovely wish that is!  Republiwhat?

Edie, my best to your mother, sorry about your cat.  At least Mom is home, that's worth a grateful thought!

'Toon: I'm sure that Republican pinheads fit easily.

    • Thanks, Mitch, and yes I am grateful to have Mom home, but seems like I have spent all summer trying to put out a fire somewhere.
