My sleeping schedule is way out of whack.  The mornings have been very chilly here, so I’ve been warming under the covers and sleeping.  Then when night comes, it’s super sticky with very high humidity, and I can’t sleep.  I could live with a swing shift schedule, but medical mayhem cannot.  The nerve pain is greatly improved, but side effects remain.  Of course, it’s too soon to tell.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:37 (average 4:59).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Fantasy Football Report:

Here are the results from our Fantasy Football league.

I actually won one last week.  Patty Monster, Vivian, and Rob are tied for the lead.  Don’t forget to be ready in time for Thursday Night Football, like I did last week.

From KP Daily Funnies: Mary Poppins Quits Over Non-Living Wage

Pretty accurate, IMHO!

From Daily Kos: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, fresh off his weekend of being called out for lying about Donald Trump’s birtherism, is seeing one of his own scandals blow up again. Two of Christie’s former underlings are on trial for the George Washington Bridge lane closures, and prosecutors opened the trial by saying Christie knew what his aides were doing at the time:

Prosecutors from the United States attorney’s office said that two of the alleged co-conspirators in the case, David Wildstein and Bill Baroni, had bragged to the governor about the lane closings, and that they had been done to “mess” with the mayor of Fort Lee because he had declined entreaties to endorse the governor’s re-election.

The prosecutor, Vikas Khanna, instantly advised the jury that they should not consider the actions of “others” or wonder why they were not charged.

Rachael has more:

PIGnocchio knew!!

From Alternet: D]ell Rapids, South Dakota firefighter was relieved of his duties after a social media post where he encouraged reinstituting slavery.

John Nygaard reportedly posted several racist posts on Facebook that sparked outrage from Dell Rapids residents, according to KSFY.

Fire him! There’s too much risk that this deplorable Republican won’t do his job, depending on race.

  1. 4:51  So easy to get tangled up.

Hang in there with the football AND the new med.  We are with you.

KPDF – Why do you think the movie was put into the suffragette era when the books weren't?

DKos – Was there ever any doubt?  I mean, real doubt?  Among sane people?

AlterNet – He's been kicked off the fire department, which is only a volunteer department, so not much loss to him, alas.  Read the commnts as far as you can stand to.  Apparently the KKK is recruiting wirh flyers all over the country now.  Gag.

Cartoon – There are lots of things people with disabilities can do, and do well.  For a while, I had the privilege of being the third person in a wheelchair in one 25-person department.  All of us valuable and valued.  Republicans, on the other hand, tend to be useless.

  2. KPDF: Very well done!

DK: Absolutely! Of course, he knew. Hope he burns.

    AN: Disgusting! Ugh!!!

    Cartoon: So sad. Really.

Hopefully, things will even out for you. I hope for the best. Enjoy your evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. DK: Christie will have to answer to the people of New Jersey?  Sorry, but Rachel missed on this one.  He will go on pushing BS to the day he signs out.  The Pig can not run for governor again…he will take his sleazy, fat ass, and go laughing all the way to the bank, as they say.  He gives not a damn, will never give a damn, because he is the 2nd largest (pun not intended) POS in the poltical spectrum/rectum.  So, in the old clown car, that the Republican pundits once claimed was of the deepest quality in a long time, WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY TALKING ABOUT?

Alternet: THIS is what Trump encourages.  So sad.

  4. KP Funnies:  What would happen to the one percent if all the Mary Poppins quit?  They would have to raise their own kids.

Daily Kos:  Did anyone ever doubt that Christie knew?  Not me.

Alternet:  I will never, ever understand people with this mentality.  He should have been fired.  Of course, he is a Trump supporter, no surprise there.

    Cartoon:  Too true.

  5. Puzzle — 3:33  A foothold to climb higher!

Fantasy Football — As I said yesterday, I was slaughtered by that Patty Monster!

KP Daily Funnies — Well done and very true!

Daily Kos — I smell Pignocchio bacon sizzling in the frying pan!  Hope it gets burned to a crisp!

Alternet — "Dell Rapids Fire Rescue issued a statement on their Facebook page announcing that they had terminated Nygaard."  You're fired (as he should have been!) but it wasn't Drumpf that said it.

    Cartoon — Typical Republican crapola!

Glad to hear that the meds continue to work.  You may continue to have side effects until your body adjusts fully.  That's generally how some of my meds work.  Hang in there and rest as you need to.

    • Woo Hoo!!!  Just read that Team Canada swiped the ice with Team USA 4-2 at the World Cup of Hockey today.  As I understand things, that retires Team USA from medals, although they do play Team Czech Republic on Thursday.

  6. Now you have to contend with both the weather and side effects of medication, TomCat. I can offer you only my commisseration and hope with you that these will not last for too long, but the effect on the nerve pain does last.

KPDF: One to look at later.

DK: What better way to draw attention to Pignocchio's involvement than for the prossecutor to instruct the jury to ignore this involvement and to forget about why others are not prosecuted! ROTFLMA Lets hope this finally is his undoing and the end of the charade he calls a political career.

Alternet: Not only may Nygaard not do his duty depending on what race he's dealing with at a given point in time, he may also be so verbose about it he'd prevent others from doing theirs too.

  7. Thanks all!!  Tired Hugs!!
