You’re right.  I’m not well enough to be writing articles, but we need to congratulate JD,m and today’s offerings are very easy to prepare.  Plus I need to send a card to let folks know I’m alive.  I’m returning to bed shortly.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 5:16 (average 7:24).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From The New Yorker: A disturbed Canadian man wants to try to get into the White House, according to reports.

The man, who was born in Calgary before drifting to Texas, has been spotted in Washington, D.C. in recent years exhibiting erratic behavior, sources said.

In 2013, he gained entry to the United States Senate and was heard quoting incoherently from a children’s book before he was finally subdued.

More recently, he was heard ranting about a plan to dismantle large components of the federal government, such as the Internal Revenue Service and the nation’s health-care program.

Dang Andy! I still think we should deport him to his place of birth!!

From NY Times: Lobbyists will descend on Congress this week as lawmakers near a bipartisan agreement to finance health care for the oldest and youngest Americans, by revamping the payment of doctors under Medicare and by extending the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

The agreement, negotiated by Speaker John A. Boehner and the House Democratic leader, Nancy Pelosi, would repeal a Medicare formula that threatens to cut doctors’ fees each year. In its place, Congress would establish an “incentive payment system” to reward doctors who receive high performance scores from the government. Scores would be based on factors like the ability to keep patients healthy while controlling costs.

Passage of the legislation would be a significant accomplishment for Mr. Boehner. It would eliminate the need for Congress to go through contortions to set Medicare payment rates for physicians, an annual exercise informally known as the “doc fix.”

The only way this could happen is that Agent Orange is terrified of an attempt by the InsaniTEA wing of his party to shut down the government over doc fix. The howls are about to start, and actual passage is doubtful, unless Boehner allows another bill on the floor with almost no Republican support.

From Daily Kos: Apparently in the last 20 years it never crossed delusional Oval Office coveter / genius extraordinaire Senator Ted Cruz’s mind that maybe—just maybe—Tedcruz.com might come in handy someday.

  1. 6:12 average 7:25 when I did it.

New Yorker – Best description of Ted Cruz I have ever seen.

NY Times – I do wish it luck.  It will be interesting to say the least!

Daily Kos – Oh, do click through.  There are a couple of other domains he also should have grabbed but didn't, and a link to a Twitter collection of proposed campaign slogans.  Many laughs.

Cartoon – I've been to the spot where he said it.  Yes, indeed.  Were Virginians different in those days?

    • P.S.  TC's own #2 Senator Ron Wyden is considered key to preventing FastTrack of the dreadful trade deals that are under consideration.  Here's why:

As the lead Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee (the committee with jurisdiction over trade), Senator Wyden could help our cause by refusing to support the Republican Fast Track bill — legislation that would railroad the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) through Congress.

So far, he has resisted the corporate pressure. But if Senator Wyden agrees to co-sponsor the Fast Track bill, it will be introduced the next day. Then the corporate lobby will use the Oregon senator's seal of approval to claim “bipartisanship” and push other Democrats in the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives to support the bill too.

My name is in this link and I don't know how to get it out for you, but you can take it out easily, and there is no information except my name which you all know anyway:

  2. AB doses welcome and hope they are just what the doctor ordered to speed your recovery, too.

So glad about the website being owned yet puzzled how Cruz is eligible for POTUS when Arnie was not –did he start life with dual citizenship?

I'd be satisfied with liberty from InsaniTea and Mr. Cruz.

  3. Anyone who doesn't even bother to TRY to secure THEIR OWN FRICKING NAME AS A DOMAIN pretty much proves they are simply TOO DUMB to be president.  I'm looking at YOU, Ted Cruz!

… AND "Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday Dear ObamaCare, Happy Birthday to You!"

Today marks the 5th Birthday that Pres. Obama signed the PPACA into law.  But I'm positive you all knew that from the extensive coverage marking this anniversary by the "liberal media"(Yeah … right)

So "CONGRATS!" to the Sixteen MILLION Lucky Duckies now covered with ObamaCare health insurance!

  4. "President Cruz"?? Yikes.

Sen. Ted Cruz announced that he’s running for president today, at Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

He is THE Tea Party favorite

Senator Cruz led a disastrous charge to shut down the federal government in 2013, embarrassing even his own party. He didn't want people to have access to affordable health care.

He took the Senate floor to "filibuster" against Obamacare by reading from Green Eggs and Ham.

He chairs the committee that oversees NASA, yet somehow still denies the reality of climate change. He doesn’t believe that climate change is real.

Cruz is the trifecta of bad news for women. He opposes abortion, even in cases of rape and incest. He voted against the Violence Against Women Act. And he called the Paycheck Fairness Act a "show vote." This is the same Ted Cruz who’s so radically anti-choice that he obsesses about ways to deny abortion access to women. And, this is the same Ted Cruz that has even called birth control, “abortifacients.”

And most recently, he put us at risk of war by signing a completely irresponsible letter to the leaders of Iran.

Don't forget, Ted Cruz still owes the taxpayers 24 billion dollars for the last government shut-down.

MoveOn PETITION: RECALL TED CRUZ, IMMEDIATELY!

    • Thanks, JL, shared this one on Facebook too.  I have a few Blue friends on there who will appreciate it.

    • Me too!  Love what the author also had to say.

"That could not be said any better. Ted Cruz is a clear and present danger not only to thinking Americans but to the entire well-being of the country. His effect on policy would be fatal."

  5. Keep taking care of yourself, we need you healthy.

The New Yorker:  Dang Andy is right, he nailed it with this one.  Why do these clowns keep getting elected, and more importantly, given so much attention by the media?  He probably would not be able to make a speech at  a Cub Scout meeting without being booed, yet here we are, having his opinions shouted at us every time we watch the news.  Yuck.

NY Times:  Boehner's back is against the wall with the baggers.  He can't pass anything without their wails.  I hope he does allow the bill on the floor, there surely will be enough votes to pass it without the Republican support.  Lobbyists should be outlawed.

NY Times:  looks like Ted and Jeb both needed some advice on the internet.

Cartoon: Libertea means death to the middle class.

  6. 4:14  Well that surprised me!  No floral salad for you dear Puddy Tat!

  7. Puzzle — 4:14  Well that surprised me!  No floral salad for you dear Puddy Tat!

The New Yorker — "I still think we should deport him to his place of birth!!" NO!  Non!  Nyet! Keine! هیچ  Nie!  לא — Does that make my feelings known on that suggestion?  The US raised him, you get to keep him!

NY Times — So basically what you are saying TC is that if Boehner allowed a vote on something that didn't have GOP support and it failed, which it would, the GOP would be happy that they won something and more likely to vote in the doc fix?  Boehner is a slippery little devil!

Daily Kos — Great presidential nominees from the Republicanus/Teabaggerum . . . cannot think far enough ahead to get their ducks lined up properly!  Too funny!

Cartoon — Words that we will probably hear much more often if a Republicanus/Teabaggerum wins the White House in 2016!  Unfortunately, the Republicanus/Teabaggerum will be all too willing to provide the latter.

  8. TY TC.

  9. New Yorker ~ Breaking news : Donald Trump is demanding to see Cruz' long form birth certificate.

NY Times ~ Agent Orange is one hell of a leader. He has to get Nancy Pelosi to pass bills for him.

Daily Kos ~ I love the website TedCruz.com. I laughed so hard when I first saw it. That has to frost him.

Cartoon ~ Words you will never hear from a TeapublicanT.

  10. Thanks all. About the same.  hugs.
