I’m writing for tomorrow, day 54.  I’m surprised I was able to find content today, and am hurrying to finish, before the broncos dine on pirate parts, even though CBS has a different game on late here.  I can still follow the play by play.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:06 (average 5:51).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Religious Ecstasy:

1228-Broncos47-Raiders14

They were televised locally after all.  Wooo Hooo!!

Short Takes:

From NY Times: The governors of New York and New Jersey, defying the unanimous votes of both their Legislatures, on Saturday rejected a bill aimed at curbing political interference and patronage at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, more than a year after lane closings at the George Washington Bridge set off a scandal that looms over the agency to this day.

Rare as it is to find a meeting of the minds between Cuomo and PIGnocchio, I’m not surprised that the governors of the nation’s most corrupt Republican state and most corrupt Democratic state would agree to block curbing the corruption. Corruption is the primary activity at the Port Authority for both states.

From The Hill: Hillary Clinton holds a massive lead over Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) in a new poll released by CNN.

The CNN/ORC poll released Sunday finds that Clinton leads by 57 points, 66 percent to 9 percent, over Warren. That lead is essentially unchanged from a CNN poll in November, when Clinton was up 65 percent to 10 percent.

There could not be a more potent demonstration of American voters’ political ignorance.

From Crooks and Liars: An anti-gun ad shows a teenager bringing his parent’s gun to school to keep his house free of dangerous weapons. The Fox News brigade goes bananas.

Naturally, the 2nd Amendment patriots at Fox News misunderstand the aims of a public service announcement. When a teenager finds a gun (it didn’t specify if it was loaded or not), he brings it to school and hands it to an adult teacher.

Barf Bag Alert!

Let’s follow the illogic of their rant through. If anyone should commit a hate crime after the encouragement so commonly broadcast on the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise, the on-air propagandists should face charges too.

I substituted the same video from YouTube, because I refuse to post video that links back to Faux Noise.

  1. Glad you saw your game TC.

NY Times – really? Whilst that sounds good –  I really don't trust them.

The Hill – I do agree, indeed I think that the results should be the other way round, if only people concentrated on one single thing – making a note of what people SAY, and then what they DO!!

    Crooks and Liars – unbelievable.

  2. To bad we haven't changed our ways towards the Native American. In the last Defense bill Sen. McCain added a last minute clause giving sacred Native American land to a private company to mine copper. No compensation, just an outright land give away.  Seems everyone will get a piece of that action (including AZ) except the Native Americans, as usual. Everyone ( same sex marriage, voting, etc., etc…) screams "rights" but the Native American has been living in poverty in (concentration) camps since we killed them off over 100 years ago. Not only did Obama sign it, but he never even raised an objection to this clause.

    • While I disagree with Obama's decision, I'm sure he thought that he was getting more that he woiuld if he waited for the next Congress next month.  What we need is a law forbidding amemdments that are not directly relsted to the bill under consideration.

  3. 4:26 I was sabotaged by a TomCat. He kept batting the ball out of my range.

  4. NY Times ~ I fully expected them both to do this.

The Hill ~ I don't put too much credence in polls this early in the game. Although, I do agree with you about voters' ignorance.

Crroks and Liars ~ The thing that struck me about the ad is the boy saying: "I don't feel safe" with a gun in my house. On another note, what happened to the NRA meme that responsible gun owners keep their guns in lock boxes? Unloaded? Ammo in a seperate place?

Cartoon ~ Will it come to this again if the Keystone gets by Pres. Obama's desk? The Sioux have said that Congress has declared war against them.

  5. 6:40 average unchanged 5:51.  To be picky (but what else is new?) I don't think real rubber holds color that well, especially white.  I think we have plastic imitation rubber here.

Glad the Orb smiled upon you, TC!

NY Times – There are enough double negatives in this story to make it potentially confusing what actually happened.  Don't be. and don't over-analyze it.  It's just more blatant corruption.

The Hill – I'm not sure the poll demonstrates very much.  I don't know who was polled, I don't know how the poll was worded, I don't know how they were thinking.  I wouldn't call Gene J (Care2) politically ignorant, or Lona G (Care2) for that matter; though she's not an American voter I think she knows a lot about American Politics.  I agree with both, and I don't think I'm politically ignorant either.

Crooks and Liars – Now this demonstrates something.  It demonstrates how hard it is to get people to even consider giving up a privilege when they have convinced themselves it is a right.  Yes, the Constitution lays down a right to bear arms, but it is not the right the Right thinks it is.  It is actually more universal than they think it is in that it is not for whites only, and less universal than they think it is in that it is not for people who would be 4F for the militia for mental reasons.  It no more applies to everyone who breathes than does the so called "divint right of kings," and it will be at least equally hard to debunk.

Cartoon – I really don't know how white people can hold up their heads, with all the shame generated by white people behaving badly.  (I know, that's throwing roses at it.)

  6. I won't be doing the articles for a few days.  I've had a couple of viruses and then that computer fraud so baby is in for a good clean out.  I'll be going to the library but they only allow 30 minutes.  I'll try to do the puzzle if I can.

    • Never had any serious virus/trojan/malware/etc (knock-wood) problems – THANK GOD!  (But I do run Norton, Ad-Aware, Malwarebyte and even Defender – so my paranoia is on full display).

But a couple of years ago I did experience the dreaded BSOD (Blue Screen of Death)!

Thank God I had an EHD (External Hard Drive).  But even with that it took TWO days to rebuild everything.

Still, the major lesson is always BACKUP … BACKUP … BACKUP

    • Lynn, I'vce has a virus get past Nortons twiuce.  Emisoft is the best out there currently. I also use Glary Utilities and an EHD with daily incremental backup.

    • Thanks guys.  Actually I have McAfee 360+ which until this computer fraud has been great.  TC, you mentioned CClean which I will talk to you about later.  I goggled it.  I'll also be talking to the tech aboutmalware, spyware etc.

  7. I am happy for you that the Broncos won.  Also happy for me, I entered a contest at a casino in Ms. and showed the Broncos winning, in your honor, because I know nothing about foot ball.  HOpe I won some bucks.

NY Times:  So happy Cuomo and Christie are hand in hand, hopefully, they will walk out of office together, too.  Sad for their constituents.

CNN:  If more people knew about Warren, this would not have happened. I am sharing everything I get from her on Facebook, hoping to educate my red friends.

Crooks and Liars:  Is it a requirement for all Faux news anchors to carry a gun?

Cartoon:  Sadly, that is not the only shame our country has regarding native Americans.

  8. Thanks all! πŸ™‚

  9. The Fox News brigade goes bananas.

    TRU-TV's world's Dumbest News. πŸ˜†

    • Richard, it can't be the dumbest because it isn't news.  At best it is opinion with a heavy dose of deceit, out right lies, and manufactured fairy tales.
