I’m writing for tomorrow, day 49, and Christmas eve.  I’ve been quite busy preparing for the holiday, but I was able to eke out material for articles.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 2:06 (average 4:22).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Fantasy Football Update:

Here’s the latest from our own fantasy football League, Lefty Blog Friends.

16Playoffs

I’m pleasantly surprised to be alive and in the championship game.

Short Takes:

From PFAW: All of us here at People For the American Way wish you happy holidays and a very happy and healthy New Year.

We know there are major challenges to face in the year ahead, but we look forward to meeting those challenges with you by our side.

Take a moment to check out a video about just some of what’s in store with next year’s incoming Congress:

Kudos to PFAW for providing excellent information!

From Daily Kos: Remember the march to protest police brutality in Washington DC?

Remember the outrage on right wing radio and news outlets picked up a chant saying clear as day- " Kill a Cop"? I had my Facebook timeline filled with outrage after the New York shootings linking the double police homicide with the "evil" chants from Washington DC…

…Baltimore Fox Affiliate Fox 45 Took the audio of the chanting and made a cut to make it seem like protesters were chanting "Kill a Cop".

What really happened.

Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda edit

Totally despicable! Typically Republican!!

From Mother Jones (Hat-Tip Lynn Squance): On December 16, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush announced (via Facebook) that he plans to "actively explore the possibility of running" for president in 2016. It’s the first step toward formally entering the race.

But there are plenty of reasons why Bush should think long and hard before subjecting himself (and his family) to the ruthless scrutiny of a presidential campaign. His history is an opposition researcher’s dream—clouded by embarrassing family episodes, allegations of philandering, offensive comments to black voters, and dubious business dealings.

Many of these past deeds and misdeeds will no doubt be put under the microscope should Bush run in 2016. Here are 23 reasons why he might want to take a pass—and it’s only a partial list:

  1. PFAW – good video, mercifully short as a reminder of only a few of the Repugs lunatic statements is enough to make a thinking person want (momentarily) to give up!  They really are verging on clinically insane with their view of the world that is so extreme – and nuts!

Daily Kos – can't the Baltimore Fox Affiliate Fox 45 be prosecuted for incitement to violence, defamation of character and anything else up to and including littering and jaywalking ?  Anyone involved in this vile piece of lying and propaganda worthy of the Third Reich should be sacked and never work again – but will probably be promoted straight into the top ranks of the Tea Party.  How utterly disgusting in every possible way.

Mother Jones – oh my goodness, not another one!  I saw a piece (I think) in Daily Kos about this today that said that comedians the world over will be laughing themselves sick over this – these days you just about have to be one of the famous families in America to run for president – but thank goodness they got rid of a monarchy!

I only hope against hope that publication of his faux pas and other horrors will stop people voting for him – but I can't place much hope in the Republican voters, given what they have elected so far….

  2. Hi CT. Hope all is well with you and kitty cat.managed to get my "steam operated" computer toswitch on this a.m..

The Dow is above 18,000!!!Wow,them that has GETS!. Good luck to all others, as our corrupt jerks (politicians) count their gifts of lobbyists money. Seniors, middle, and working class struggle to keep their heads above water.,I am going on a spending spree with the $6 increase in my pension.! (and  I am sure that MANY thousands of others are in the same pedicament).  My hope for 2015. that Americans THINK before they VOTE!!.as wesay" You get what you pay for>

  3. 4:11 average up a little.  Depending on the fiber content, this could be more plastic, or not.  Congrats, TC, on making it to the championship round.

PFAW – Mitch McConnell's top priority, I think, is not defunding Obamacare, not ramming through the Keystone Pipeline, maybe not even increased donor funding, although all those are in there, but geting the TPP through Congress.  Scary stories are a Christmas tradition, I know, but when they are true it kind of takes the fun out of it.

Daily Kos – Yes, I read this.  It doesn't outrage me so much that they did it (since that is what Republicans do) as that Americans with attention spans that make gnats look like Nobel Laureates will never be exposed to the retraction (and should they be, they wouldn't believe it anyway).

Mother Jones – I wish I saw even one of those as disqualifying from the standpoint of voters.  But if you are a Republican, it's OK to have sleazy kids, sleazy friends, sleazy appointees, and even to be sleazy, as long as it's in a complicated enough way to be difficult for the Americans I already mentioned to comprehend.  It's OK to be indicted for felonies (Scott Walker).  It's OK to be a convicted felon, even one with anger issues (Mike Grimm).  As long as you are a warm body walking around outside of a prison and will bow to the Tea Party.

    Cartoon – speaks for itself.

  4. 3:00 ~ TC, you're going to get cotton mouth if you try to eat these.

  5. It is nice so many organizations keep track of the scum and seamy aspects proposed.  Makes me gladder that DISH replaced Fox–even if partly by Beck. Makes me ask whether evidence of corruption is a requisite to be a GOP candidate.

  6. For those that are here, Happy Holidays! I have had the best of times reading TomCat’s postings and the responses to them. I hope that the New Year finds everyone happy, healthy and, dare I say, maybe even wealthy!
For you, TomCat, I hope that your health improves. I know you haven’t been feeling well of late and I worry about you!
Mother Jones: I hope Shrub III goes for it! He will be the easiest to defeat!
And the rest of them will have to wait till I have more time!
Take care, TomCat. We want you around a long time!

  7. Stolen Election Florida Bush v Gore *

The cheaters: In 2010, Bush and his education reform organization,- "Chiefs for Change" to advance the Florida model of education,- One of the original eight chiefs was accused of inflating the grade of a lackluster charter school funded by a Republican donor. The office of another was caught manipulating test score data.

  8. Puzzle — 2:48  TC, unless those balls are made of silk strings with the silkworms still attached, you won't have a meal at all . . . not even hors d'oeuvres!

FF — Isn't it strange how this season/post season works . . . #1 during much of the season then knocked down in the first game of the post season by #8.  In the 2nd week of post season play, I knocked down Monster Mashers which I failed to beat during the regular season.  This 3rd week will proove interesting against the Jockster.  I defeated the Jockster twice during the regular season and the NFL commentary says I have a 54.4% of winning by 11.86 points.  Another puts my success at 94%.  I guess it comes down to "shut up, play the game and have fun!".  Goodluck everyone!

PFAW — If I may paraphrase Mrs O'Leary, it's going to be a hot time in the ol' town (Washington) next year! Veto!  Veto!  Veto!

Daily Kos — I sure am glad I live in Canada where such BS as perpetrated by Faux Noise would not be tolerated.  It is illegal here and Faux Noise would be hauled on the carpet, fined, and subject to the loss of their broadcast license.  Faux is inciting hatred and rioting.  Just plain unacceptable!

Mother Jones — When I saw this article and started reading, I think my jaw hit the floor and stayed there.  I think matriarch Barbara Bush had it right when she said last April "…we've had enough Bushes."  How can anybody support Jeb Bush and then turn around and condemn the actions of Eric Garner who was selling loose cigarettes?  There are a lot of big fish to fry before even "talking" to Garner, including Jeb Bush.

Cartoon — The NRA and neocons are getting low grade coal in their stockings this year!

  9. Joyeux Noël!  Merry Christmas!  Christmas Mubarak!  Feliz Navidad!

May you be blessed with love, hope, joy and peace as you celebrate the season, whether it be Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa.

Tonight, I am going to church for the 11 pm service.  Tomorrow, I will spend time with my mother and likely cook my turkey roast on Boxing Day (26/12/14) together with yams, peas, and stuffing.  Might even have some mashed potatoes.  Of course my little family will be having turkey with me.

    Peace be with you all.

  10. I'm making my evening comments a bit early so I can get in and out quich at midnight.  I have to be tuckes in bed before SantaCat arrives!  May your holifay be blessed whatever it is.

  11. PFAW:  THAT IS ENOUGH TO CAUSE NIGHTMARES!

Daily Kos:  away from home, could not get audio,

Mother Jones:  The best reason I can think of is that we don't. Need another Bush in thr White House!

Cartoon:  Exactly what they woul do!

    Merry Christmas!
