I’m writing for tomorrow, day 8.  Here in Portland, we have both a high wind warning and a winter storm warning from the NWS.  Sudden weather changes, especially ones involving winter storms, set off my COPD big time, si I’m having a bad air day.  I did get to the rental office to finalize my paperwork for next years lease, get some housework done, and stow the groceries Store to Door delivered.  But other than that, it’s been a day to rest, wrap myself around a buffalo chicken wing, and hide under the blankets.  I hope to be be back up to speed tomorrow.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 2:58 (average 4:37).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Back to the cat cave.

  1. 3:05 Looks like I got beached!

  2. Yours sounds like a very wise plan of action.  Hope you get to feeling better soon!

  3. Glad to see you are hiding under your blanket in the bad weather TC – another lovely photo of you!  (Have just had to look up what a buffalo chicken wing is – it sounds gorgeous!).

  4. 4:52 average up to 4:46.

Yeah – some days.  Tomorrow will be a day for me that if you see me post before about 8 pm Mountain it will be a bloody miracle.  Also weather related.  I hope not health related too, but we will see.  Your buffalo chicken wing(s) should clear the sinuses; I don't know about other airways.  Tom Philpott at Mother Jones has a recipe this week for a soup that will do that.  But I expect you need rest mote than cooking right now.  Do take care.

    • P.S. Just got an email from Bold Progressives, citing HuffPo, that

"Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) gained a leadership position in the Senate Democratic caucus Thursday … Warren's role, which is a new position created specifically for her, will be in crafting the party's messaging and policy."

If that isn't the best news I've heard all year!  They have a card of congratulations to sign to her:

      • Just watch Warren kick some Republicanus/Teabagger butt!  I'd love to see her serve up some McTurtle soup with a side order of Cruz chili and Lindsey-poo grits!

      • It's a nice bit of fluff, but the position does not include any real power.  While she is tto be congrfatulated, no token recognition is required for her to be recognized as the superstar she is.

  5. Take good care–sounds like essentials are getting taken care of nonetheless.  Rain began happening this far south last night.

  6. So you're the one that taught my Annie to go under the covers!  No wonder I have a hard time sleeping with her on the top sheet but under the quilt.  It's almost impossible to move!  But I can't blame either of you from burrowing down . . . it was -8 C last night with windchill and will be about the same tonight.  Lots of wind too.  But surprisingly, humidity is only about 55%.

Seems like it's one of those "hunker down with a bowl of chili" nights.  Stay warm and stay dry!

  7. I am glad you are finally taking care of yourself, take a couple of days and rest.  Love the cat!

  8. Thanks all.  The cold and COPD arfe still kicking my butt, but, but I still have articles for tomorrow.  This was such a sudden change thay yesterday was the first time this winter that I've needed to turn on the heat.

    • We had a high of 72 on Tuesday, our high today was 30.  It is now 23.  I may move to Mississippi with my son after this winter, if this is any indication of what to expect.
