In October, Politics Plus was improved in all categories.  Here is our latest summary:

usage10-2014

Stats10-2014

In the monthly totals, a Site is any website from which someone accessed our server, a Hit is every access attempt to our server, and a File is every access attempt to our server that returned data.  The difference between Hits and Files is from access attempts that were sent in error or damaged in transit and failed attempts by hackers, spammers, phishers, and Republicans to access the back end and take control of the site.  Any questions?

Here is last month’s Clustrmap, because they are updating and offline:

Map9-2014

ClusterMaps misses a lot of, because many visits can’t be easily traced to a location.  It shows only the visits from March 2 to September 6, when it was last updated.  Therefore the map is unchanged from last month.

Here are our top five articles:

A Republican Freedom 9/24/2013 1,090 views
Jane Smiley: Capitalist Pigs 1/17/2010 758 views
How RepubliCorp Is Ducking Taxes 7/27/2014 442 views
Last Week’s Republican Lunacies 6/9/2014 268 views
A Republican Staffer Tells the Truth! 9/5/2011 258 views

Several years are represented here, but at least one article from last month should have made the list.

Here are our top non-blog/news referrers:

Google 2,362
Care2 2,285
Stumbleupon 336

All are slightly up, but Bing fell below 100 referrals.

Normally I include fifteen here, but these eight are the only ones with two or more referrals.  Putting their links here increases the ratings of their sites, so this “linkey love” is our thank you for their support.

Here are our top commentators.  As the resident Big Mouth, I don’t count.  Those who leave their URLs in their comment headers, also get “linkey-love” here.

We have 270,053 links on other websites.

Our Technorati rating no longer exists, because Technorati no longer exists as a blog rating entity.    They have left a vacuum in blog authority rating.  If you learn of someone filling that need before I do, please let me know.

As of Midnight, November 1, we have 5,188 articles and 57,578 comments.

I recommend using your own avatar. Go to Gravatar.  Sign up using the email address you use to post comments here and upload the image you want to use as your avatar.  Whenever you comment under that email address here or on any WordPress blog (several others too), that image will become your avatar.

The 2014 elections are two days away.  If Republicans take the Senate we will have two years of even worse gridlock, because they will continue to sabotage America, hoping to present themselves as saviors in 2016.  We have the votes to stop them, if people actually vote.

Thank you for all you have done to…

Get Out the VOTE!!!

  1. Thanks for this TC – I just clicked through to read 'A Republican Staffer Tells The Truth' – God bless the dear man for being honest!  (As I read I thought 'Just think how much worse than this things have got with the Repuglicans over the last three years too!').

I'm so glad the numbers are better TC – this site really is vital to make sense of US poltics, thank you so much for it.

I particularly like the Clustrmap, as it makes me feel optimistic for the world despite the dire international news – there even seems to be a couple of people in Siberia  who are educating themselves along with us on US politics and news – good for them and hooray for us all!  (God bless the internet!).  I really admire people whose second (or even third) languages are so good that they can read sites like this.

  2. It's good to see the numbers have risen just before election day.

    VOTE!

  3. Looking at the cluster map, I noticed that not many people from northern Africa visit Politics Plus.

  4. The closer to the elections, the more the Republicans are toning down.  Of course they are still outrageous, that doesn't change, but they are outrageous a little more quietly.  Compare last week's crazies to the one from June that is on the list and you will see what I mean.  Mitch's father-in-law, and Mitch's money coming from coke as well as Koch, was too late for last month.   I wouldn't worry about no October 2014 article making the hit list as long as the stats are up overall.  Like everyone else, I thank you for your faithfulness and hard work.

  5. For comparison, the Quantcast report shows Care2 down 17-18% in page numbers, people and visits and the total number remains lower than in March.

  6. Good stuff!  Once the midterms are over, then the shenanigans for 2016 will officially start.  That will keep you busier than a cat on a hot tin roof, and should boost numbers more.  Thanks for your "sticktoitiveness" and the political education.  I head to the polls 15/11/14 for municipal government.

  7. I see that there is a desert around me in Oklahoma! There isn’t a lot of people that get on Care2 in OK. That’s how I found your blog.
It saddens me to no end that the RepuklicanTs are already claiming victory in the mid-term elections!! The votes haven’t even been counted yet, but they act like they have swept the election with a big Red Broom!
That is why all of the blue-blooded Americans needs to GET OUT AND VOTE BLUE!!!!!

  8. I am glad October stats are up.  Now that we are facing winter, more people will be staying home, so the stats should go up again. No matter what the stats are, I look forward to Politics Plus because I always learn something here.
