Here are the results of our Gridlock Poll.  Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories.   Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population.  Nevertheless, our polls are often both accurate and indicative of the nation’s view.

Ha – is the Pope Catholic? Whose fault could it be, I wonder, if the country is a mess? I give the Republicans credit for 99%…. ok, 99.9%.

Definitely, the Republicans own the gridlock.

The Republicans have done nothing but obstruct bills and appointments since Pres. Obama started his first term. The only things they agree on are their own pay raises and vacations.

I think they’d claim it can’t be their fault 100% of the time because they’ve voted to repeal Obamacare 50 times & Democrats Just Wouldn’t Help! ;

Media’s endlessly claiming "False Equivalency" is their go-to mantra to excuse gridlock.

Democrats: 1+1 = 2

Repubicans: 1+1 = 4

Media: 1+1 = 3

But clearly that is NOT true, no matter how many times Chucky Todd, David Gregory, Joe Scarborough, et al try to ram it down our throats.

Pres. Obama had a great explanation.

“You’ll hear if you watch the nightly news or you read the newspapers that, well, there’s gridlock, Congress is broken, approval ratings for Congress are terrible. And there’s a tendency to say, a plague on both your houses. But the truth of the matter is that the problem in Congress is very specific. We have a group of folks in the Republican Party who have taken over who are so ideologically rigid …"

Well, 100% is included in the range "95%+" so I was fine with that. I know many people are upset that this Congress has accomplished nothing, but I am pleased with that, seeing as, with this particular Congress, if they did accomplish something, it would be hurtful. and most hurtful to those who are most vulnerable. And since the Republicans have openly stated that obstruction is their intention, it boggles my mind that anyone could fail to see that they own the gridlock.

Republicans own 100% of Congressional gridlock, T.C. (on the theory that, had not Republicans obstructed every piece of legislation that might cast the current administration in a favorable light, the turncoat Democrats would have voted with the herd). I’m withholding my vote until I decide if I can live with 95%+.

I fully agree with the results.  There is a new poll up,  Vote both here and in November!

  1. Agree with the 95%+ all the way. The only thing that the rethuglicans have done is stop-up the workings all over the country!!
Our Repuglican governor has decided that letting children participate in a “closely regulated” trial on CBD oil for seizures. Just last week, she was foursquare against ANY trial of ANY kind of marijuana, medicinal or otherwise. (She just got a petition from over 140,000 people wanting medical marijuana put on the ballot in November.) Wonder why??

  2. When I first read the survey, I was thinking 100% and questioned 95%+.  Then I forgot to go back and vote.

There is no doubt in my mind that Congressional gridlock is the responsibility of the Republican/Teabaggers aided and abetted by Democrats on occasion.  When I say 'aided and abetted', I am thinking of things like Harry Reid not putting an end to the filibuster when he had a chance.  The filibuster in some cases can be useful, BUT, not when dealing with ideological prima donnas like Republicanus/Teabaggers.

Republicanus/Teabaggers have made it their number one goal to obstruct not the Democrats, but to obstruct Obama, and I suspect, just because he is black and dares to be the POTUS.  The only thing that these so-called 'fiscal conservatives' have accomplished is to spend millions upon millions of tax payer dollars trying to repeal Obamacare, fighting DOMA in the courts, and currently suing Obama for doing his job while the Republicanus/Teabagger dominated Congress sit on their collective asses, when they aren't on vacation or recess, doing nothing to govern the country or helping to lift it out of the economic doldrums.  A pox on the Republicanus/Teabaggers!

  3. I agree with Joanne D's comment.  We should be glad they didn't accomplish anything because if they had, it would have damaged the country.

  4. It seems to me how couragious President Obama was in attempting to fix the mess left to him via the same nut jobs giving him a hard time at every turn….
