I’m writing for tomorrow and feeling quite tired after yesterday’s prison work.  It was an excellent meeting.  We discussed how letting go of control issues helps to enable empowerment.  The guys really miss Critter, and I’ve been thinking.  Perhaps Politics Plus might donate our Critter to take his place.  Jerry, are you doing anything for the next few years. ;-)  Fantasy football players, check your lineups for the Thursday night game.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:29 (average 5:02).  To do it click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Upworthy: A Senator Gets Mad About The Shutdown And Starts Naming Names. About Time.

Since the media seems to think this whole thing is a bipartisan mess, I thought I’d get a second opinion.

She could not have nailed it more precisely. This democracy has already rejected the Republican War on America!

From Daily Kos: Inadvertently or not, John Boehner showed the way out of the shutdown on a Sunday talk show yesterday.

Listen to what he said on This Week with George Stephanopoulos:

STEPHANOPOULOS: He has not, perhaps, but I take it from your answer that you’re not prepared to schedule a clean bill on government funding.

BOEHNER: There are not the votes in the House to pass a clean CR.

The 2 Word challenge that all Democrats must issue immediately :

PROVE IT

I’ve got a big AMEN for that!

From MSNBC: New Faux Noise Host Displays just how fair and balanced they are.

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

No surprise there!!Needless to say, Faux Noise is still the Republican Reichsministry of propaganda.

  1. 4:39 Even JonTHn Livinston /seagull will be able to beat me this week. I'm in Baltimore using my nephew's Mac. Don't like it much.

  2. Upworthy ~ The Boogeyman is real! He and his cohorts shut down our government.

Daily Kos ~ I believe the votes are there. He is so afraid of a Tea-Bagger primary against him and loves his giant gavel so much that he won't schedule a vote.

MSNBC ~ Megan Kelly = UNfair & UNbalananced.

    Cartoon ~ So very sad.

  3. I SO love that Elizabeth Warren – we could use about 1000 more just like her.

What can we say about Agent Orange that hasn't been said?  Oh, yeah, we could say he's a decent human being but then we'd be lying….

  4. Oh man!  Just because I would not play fantasy football, you want to throw me in jail?  πŸ™‚

  5. ~ 5:40

A Senator Gets Mad About The Shutdown And Starts Naming Names.

Elizebeth Warren is a Rock Star and the best advocate to keep for profit business honest…

  6. Elizabeth Warren at her peerless best!  (I don't approve of cloning – but the world most definitely needs a few more tens of thousands like her!).

  7. PS – so glad you at last got a night's sleep TC – and very glad your prison work went so well – the world needs a few thousand more of you too!

  8. 5:20, for the birds.

Warren – I know there are people who agree with her and think like her – why are they not running for and serving in office?  Yes, some are, but too many are not   At least Kirsten Gillibrand is trying to find these people and encourage them, Emily's List and other Progressive organizations are trying to encourage and support them.  I hope all of us are supporting those who do run as much as we can.

Megan – Gag me with a spoon.

Cartoon – Republicans care about dead, or living, soldiers?  News to me.  As a veteran, I am constantly hearing horror stories about Repubs from veterans' organization.  I grant that Republicans care – a lot – about grandstanding.  I grant they care about hungry children even less, way less, than they care about soldiers.

    • Some days tou eat the bear, and…..

To a larger extent than most states, that's what we've done in Oregon.

In her case, who beeds a spoon.

Whedn the elephant says "Lets…", that doesn't mean they actually intemc to do it, jisy whine about it as if they did.

  9. UPworthy:  Elizabeth Warren is a genius and a true leader.  I wish half those in Congress had her sense.

Daily Kos:  He cannot prove it.  He is so terrified for his job, he can't prove anything.

Megan is just another cliche brought out by faux news because she ispretty.

Cartoon:  The care as much about live soldiers as they do live children.

    • I wish 60% in the Senate did too.

      True!

You can tell a wonan's rant at Faux Noise.  The higher her rank, the less cleavage she shows.

Their right to life is for the unborn anf corpses.

  10. Puzzle — 3:21  Jerry, could you please move faster and to the left . . . I hate being "bombed".

Upworthy — Go Lizzie!!!  Warren certainly calls a spade a spade!  It is about time someone of influence and stature called out the Republicanus/Teabaggers for economic terrorism, their lies and flip-flops.  The MSM sure isn't doing it, instead blaming both parties equally.  Here is a CREDO petition http://www.credomobilize.com/petitions/tell-the-media-don-t-blame-both-parties-for-the-government-shut-down?akid=9131.4312055.C5B1Nm&rd=1&t=7  Over 150,000 have signed on a target of 200,000

"TO: ABC, NBC, CBS AND CNN
The government shutdown is not the result of a legislative breakdown or both parties refusing to compromise. It is a direct result of the right-wing House Republicans' legislative strategy of taking hostages and making extremist demands that are out of touch with the American people. Report the truth: House Republicans are solely responsible for the government shutdown."

Daily Kos — So Boehner said that the Republicanus/Teabaggers and the Democrats have to sit down with the White House and have a conversation.

"Boehner: … We're interested in having a conversation about how we open the government and how we begin to pay our bills. But it begins with a simple conversation.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Well, you had a conversation at the White House. The Democrats, including Senate Democrat Harry Reid, has said he's more than willing to have a conference, more than willing to have a negotiation, but not under the threat of a government shutdown, not under the threat of a default.

BOEHNER: So it's my way or the highway. That's what he's saying. Complete surrender and then we'll talk to you."

What projection from Boehner.  He is accusing Reid of being 'my way or the highway' when in fact, Boehner, Cruz etc have been that way all along.  The Republicanus/Teabaggers have been too ready to throw the country under a bus just so they get their own way.  Two year old whiners, the lot of them.  The only good Republicanus/Teabagger is an unemployed Republicanus/Teabagger!

MSNBC — Faux Noise balanced?  In a pig's eye!  Faux Noise and balanced in the same sentence is an oxymoron! . . . no matter who the host is.

Cartoon — All Americans deserve the respect of their country, of political leaders, but they sure aren't getting it from Republicanus/Teabaggers.

    • Crunched…  then Crapped!!

Make that to MSNBC too,  I've seen it on Morning Joe and Daily Rundown.

They are having their conversation.  The answer is still NO.

      Bingo!

      True!
