I thoroughly enjoyed my meditation with the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb yesterday, but unless my place kicker scores 10 points tonight, Rob will beat me at fantasy football.  I’m current with replies.  Tomorrow is my monthly grocery delivery, so my articles may be late.

Today’s took me 3:24 (average 4:24).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

19Women

This is good news, but it does not go far enough.  Click through for more good news for women.

From Think Progress: Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has not hesitated to voice his distaste towards U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice, who may be nominated to replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. On Face the Nation Sunday morning, McCain went even further than simply opposing Rice’s nomination and said that, “until we find out all the information” on the Benghazi consulate attacks, he would not support any Secretary of State nominee.

The more time passes, the more McConJob acts just like a Republican.

From TPM: They are few, but they are vocal: the pro-same sex marriage, pro-choice, pro-tax Republican activists. For years, these groups have labored off the radar, trying to convince a party unwilling to listen that it needs to moderate on issues from social to fiscal. But after the Democrats’ decisive victories on Nov. 6, the Republican Underground says its finally time to go mainstream.

While I whish these Republicans every success at reforming their party, I hope that they will come out from among them, if they fail to do do.

  1. Puzzle — 3:03  Now that is one indignant cat!  Oh the eyes!  . . . and a true tiger cat with black on ginger!

MoveOn — Women make up 51% of the population — that should be reflected in the Congress, and all the better if they are Democratic women!  Loved the spot on Jon Stewart where the female talking heads at Faux Noise said married women favoured Romney.  Does this mean that many women, when they get married to men, lose all sense of self and start acting like little puppy dogs clamouring after their owners?  Having always been single, just wondering.

Think Progress — Sorry TC, but I have to disagree with you on this one.

The more time passes, the more McConJob acts just like a Republican. an asshole, and he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Assholology!  PhD — Piled higher and Deeper!

TPM — In my mind, the Republican Party, the party of Grumpy Old Pharts,  is dead.  Not only are their bodies going to be fossilised, but their thinking is already fossilised!  They, in general, are not capable of thinking for themselves, preferring to think, do and say what they are told to.  These "rebels" really need to move on where they can do some good for the people.  What was that Kenny Rogers' line — Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em!  Well I think it is time to "fold 'em"!

Cartoon — The Gettysburg Address!  One of a handfull of Wikipedia articles that, were it a book, would be a  dogearred page from consulting it so much!  My favourite line and probably the best known — "government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."

  2. MoveOn ~ We need more reasonable women in Congress. Kelly Ayotte is the only one I'm not too happy with. Check out her voting record. She is no friend to women.

Think Progress ~ Lindsey Graham and Kelly Ayotte are standing right along with McConJob in their opposition to Susan Rice. They all vow to block her nomination.

TPM ~ They will never convince the Party of No that they are wrong and not Right.

Cartoon ~ Too bad so many people have forgotten it.
