Limbaugh&#8217;s misogynistic attack, which spanned three days of his radio show, did incalculable, long-term <a href=\"http:\/\/mediamatters.org\/research\/2012\/03\/22\/the-limbaugh-slut-firestorm\/184210#3\" target=\"_blank\">damage<\/a> not only to Limbaugh&#8217;s brand, but also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/stories\/0312\/74237.html\" target=\"_blank\">to the right-wing talk-radio format<\/a> he helped to build and the conservative movement he has shaped for decades.<\/p>\n<p>Limbaugh&#8217;s attacks on Fluke led to a paradigm shift in talk radio, as advertisers reassessed their support for inflammatory hosts. It&#8217;s Congress&#8217; job to legislate, not the President&#8217;s. In my opinion, Obama has offered the Republicans far more than they have a right to expect. The Senate <a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/economy\/2012\/09\/13\/843311\/house-farm-bill-three-weeks\/\" target=\"_blank\">passed<\/a> its own bipartisan, 10-year farm bill in June, and House Democrats and farm state Republicans attempted to force the House to consider a bill to replace it.
