{"id":9699,"date":"2012-12-06T10:06:17","date_gmt":"2012-12-06T18:06:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=9699"},"modified":"2012-12-06T10:06:17","modified_gmt":"2012-12-06T18:06:17","slug":"budget-bs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2012\/12\/06\/budget-bs\/","title":{"rendered":"Budget BS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">When it comes to the current budget fiasco, Republicans have their talking points lined up in a row, all evasions and obfuscations.&#160; So they employ projection to accuse Democrats of doing it instead.&#160; But what happens when a Democrat can rattle off specifics profusely, and a Republican can\u2019t or won\u2019t?&#160; It reveals either Republican ignorance, or more likely, something worse.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto\" title=\"GOP-Shit\" alt=\"GOP-Shit\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/GOP-Shit.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"381\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) <a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/economy\/2012\/12\/03\/1275261\/republicans-revert-to-pre-election-tax-plan-promise-to-raise-revenue-by-magic\/\" target=\"_blank\">released a vague counter offer<\/a> to President Obama\u2019s plan to avert the so-called fiscal cliff, offering $800 billion in revenue by closing unspecified loopholes and deductions and $1.4 trillion in spending cuts. Republicans have refused to provide details and have pressed Democrats to detail which cuts they would accept. <\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, during an appearance on CNN\u2019s Situation Room, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) became speechless when asked to list the spending reductions Congress should adopt, as host <strong>Wolf Blitzer pressed the Chairman of the House Republican Conference for just one example<\/strong>. Fellow guest Rep. I have no doubt that McMorris was not at all incapable of listing the spending cuts Republicans hope to achieve.
