Do you remember Michael Brown, aka Heck of a job, Brownie<\/em>?  He\u2019s the idiot Bush put in charge of FEMA, who did nothing, at the same time that GW Bush was vacationing for three days, before having the notion that it might be good for him to pay attention to New Orleans drowning!  Well, this Republican has stepped forward for his party to criticize Obama\u2019s handling of the Sandy crisis, and that\u2019s just the beginning of what Republicans are doing to politicize this tragedy.<\/font><\/p>\n

\"31Brownie\"\u2026The entire GOP has been having a years-long allergic reaction to the very concept of "disaster relief," we’ve got Mitt Romney refusing to even mention whether or not he thinks FEMA is an abomination unto the budget gods, and now out here comes the head Katrina-botcher himself, back like a bad rash<\/font><\/a>:<\/font><\/p>\n

Michael Brown, former President George W. Bush’s former FEMA director who was criticized for his slow reaction to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, said on Monday that President Obama may have acted too quickly on Hurricane Sandy this week<\/strong>. <\/font><\/p>\n

Brown said Obama’s Sunday press conference with Federal Emergency Management Agency officials was "premature"<\/strong> because the effect of the storm was not felt until a day later.<\/font><\/p>\n

Oh, eff you, Brown. Yes, how dare Obama and FEMA try to prepare people for a natural disaster beforehand, instead of sitting on their asses waiting for it to happen. Everyone knows you’re supposed to have the press conference warning people about the hurricane only after they’ve already lost power and nobody can watch the damn thing. If that’s not the most Republican damn thing I’ve ever heard, it’s only because Brown didn’t figure out a way to wedge the words "tax cut" in there\u2026 [emphasis added<\/em>]<\/font><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Meanwhile, Willard Romney, the guy who said he wants to eliminate FEMA, cancelled his campaign events, but had \u2018Hurricane Relief\u2019 events in Ohio in the same venues where his campaign events had been scheduled.  He proved the events were strictly apolitical by showing the people Republican Convention video.  He collected supplies for the Red Cross that they say they cannot use.  Does this remind anyone else of Paul Ryan in the soup kitchen?<\/font><\/p>\n

Moving on, in Virginia, Republicans trotted out the following attack ad<\/a>:<\/font><\/p>\n

And that\u2019s just the beginning of Republican InsaniTEA on the subject.  SPLC has exposed some wild conspiracy theories<\/a> about Sandy.  It happened because Obama is promoting homosexual marriage.  It\u2019s God\u2019s punishment of the US for supporting a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine.  Obama engineered the hurricane so he could look like a strong leader.  It\u2019s Obama\u2019s excuse to take away your guns.  Scheeesch!!! Earth to Baggers! Earth to Baggers!  Come in!  Hello?  Is anyone home in there?  Talk about InsaniTEA!<\/font><\/p>\n

On the other hand, I do have to offer grudging respect and kudos to NJ Gov. Chris Christie for having the integrity to openly thank Obama for doing such a great job, and making it clear that he is not interested in having Willard visit NJ to get in the way with his peacock act.,<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
