The same (except for some good votes) could be applied to every Republican Senator that has not been forced out by the extremists.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2012\/10\/22\/opinion\/krugman-the-secret-of-our-non-success.html\" target=\"_blank\">NY Times<\/a>: <\/font>The U.S. economy finally seems to be recovering in earnest, with housing on the rebound and job creation outpacing growth in the working-age population. But the news is good, not great \u2014 it will still take years to restore full employment \u2014 and it has been a very long time coming. Why has the slump been so protracted?<\/p>\n<p>The answer \u2014 backed by overwhelming evidence \u2014 is that this is what normally happens after a severe financial crisis. But Mitt Romney\u2019s economic team rejects that evidence. And this denialism bodes ill for policy if Mr. Romney wins next month. <\/p>\n<p>About the evidence: The most famous study is by Harvard\u2019s Carmen Reinhart and Kenneth Rogoff, who looked at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.economics.harvard.edu\/files\/faculty\/51_Aftermath.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">past financial crises<\/a> and found that such crises are typically followed by years of high unemployment and weak growth. Later work by economists at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imf.org\/external\/pubs\/ft\/weo\/2012\/01\/pdf\/c3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">International Monetary Fund<\/a> and elsewhere confirmed this analysis: crises that followed a sharp run-up in private-sector debt, from the U.S. Panic of 1893 to the Swedish banking crisis of the early 1990s, cast long shadows over the economy\u2019s future. There was no reason to believe that this time would be different. <\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">I personally projected, before the onset of the Republican recession in the fall of 2008, that the damage done to the US economy by Crawford Caligula and the Republican Party would take fifty years to fully mend. I strongly urge you to click through and rest the rest of this fine editorial by Paul Krugman, who should replace either Timmy the Tool or Ben the Bankster.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">From <a href=\"http:\/\/nymag.com\/daily\/intel\/2012\/10\/repubs-pulling-money-out-of-ryan-soup-kitchen.html\" target=\"_blank\">NY Magazine<\/a>: <\/font>After Brian Antal, the president of an Ohio soup kitchen where Paul Ryan <a href=\"http:\/\/nymag.com\/daily\/intel\/2012\/10\/paul-ryan-soup-kitchen-photo-dishes.html\" target=\"_blank\">pretended to wash dishes<\/a> recently, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/election-2012\/wp\/2012\/10\/15\/charity-president-unhappy-about-paul-ryan-soup-kitchen-photo-op\/\" target=\"_blank\">called out Ryan<\/a> for the photo op, he was bombarded with hundreds of angry phone calls. Even worse, he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2012\/10\/18\/soup-kitchen-paul-ryan-photo-donor_n_1980541.html\" target=\"_blank\">tells the Huffington Post<\/a> that his soup kitchen is now losing conservative donors.
