It sounded sensible, and the statistical evidence he presented from his implementation of that program as Governor of Texas certainly appeared to demonstrate that the program was working well there.&#160; I did not realize what Bush and his minions were doing to students in Texas to get those statistics.&#160; It seems nothing has changed there.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"5Garcia\" border=\"0\" alt=\"5Garcia\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/5Garcia.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"278\" \/>Former El Paso Independent School District Superintendent Lorenzo Garc\u00eda, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elpasotimes.com\/ci_20848628\/former-episd-superintendent-lorenzo-garcia-enter-plea-aggreement\">who pleaded guilty on Wednesday to federal corruption charges,<\/a> conspired with six district employees to manipulate student testing and raise federal accountability performance, according to federal charges.<\/p>\n<p>Garc\u00eda, 57, <strong>who bragged about boosting test scores in the district<\/strong>, is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 14 after pleading guilty to <strong>cheating on state-mandated tests<\/strong> and for <strong>steering a $450,000 no-bid contract to one of his two mistresses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The six people who helped carry out Garc\u00eda&#8217;s scheme to inflate test scores at district schools have not been identified.<\/p>\n<p>Asked if those people would be charged with crimes, the FBI and federal prosecutors said the investigation is still ongoing\u2026 [<em>emphasis added<\/em>]<\/p>\n<p>Inserted from &lt;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.elpasotimes.com\/news\/ci_20853273\/federal-inquiry-audit-into-episd-cheating-ongoing\" target=\"_blank\">El Paso Times<\/a>&gt;<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Don\u2019t you just love those Republican family values?<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">The way that Garcia was cheating to boost test scores was to push low performing students out of the public school system, thereby abandoning those who were most in need.&#160; We shouldn\u2019t be surprised.&#160; It\u2019s standard Republican policy to abandon the most needy of our citizens.&#160; Furthermore, he learned from a master, because that\u2019s how Crawford Caligula produced artificially high test scores when he was Governor.&#160; It\u2019s to bad they weren\u2019t investigating and prosecuting that then.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">We need a balanced approach to investing in all America\u2019s students to build a work force prepared for the future, and that\u2019s what Obama and the Democratic Party offer.&#160; Lord Willard and the Republican Party, on the other hand, want to privatize education to make the poor and middle classes pay for students at rich private and pseudo-Christian religious schools, while cutting education funding to give tax cuts to billionaires.&#160;
