{"id":8906,"date":"2012-09-21T11:02:50","date_gmt":"2012-09-21T18:02:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=8906"},"modified":"2012-09-21T11:02:50","modified_gmt":"2012-09-21T18:02:50","slug":"a-win-for-warren","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2012\/09\/21\/a-win-for-warren\/","title":{"rendered":"A Win for Warren!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Because I live on the Left Coast, I had to wait until this morning to see the debate between consumer advocate and CFPB founder, Elizabeth Warren, and corporate-shill, pretending to be progressive, Scott Brown.&#160; In my opinion, Warren mopped the floor with him, but I know that many will parrot the Republican Ministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise, to the contrary.&#160; Therefore I have included the complete video of the debate.&#160; Watch it and decide for yourself.&#160; But first, here is John Nichols view.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"21brown_warren\" border=\"0\" alt=\"21brown_warren\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/21brown_warren.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"226\" \/>An overbearing and at times ridiculously aggressive Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown came across as a desperate man Thursday night, as he attempted to gain the upper hand in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/local\/massachusetts\/2012\/09\/20\/brown-warren-square-off-mass-senate-debate\/zY50YRG5hZZpCnN7aX20NI\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\">the first debate<\/a> of this year\u2019s most closely watched US Senate race and, by extension, in a re-election contest that seems to be slipping away from him.<\/p>\n<p>Brown literally <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/election-2012\/wp\/2012\/09\/20\/first-brown-warren-debate-gets-aggressive\/\" target=\"_blank\">attacked Elizabeth Warren<\/a>, his surging Democratic challenger, from start to finish\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;But Warren never sweated it. She knew she had the winning hand.<\/p>\n<p>And she played it. Again and again.<\/p>\n<p>In a very Democratic state that very much does not want Republicans to take control of the US Senate, Warren kept emphasizing that\u2014for all Brown\u2019s talk of bipartisanship and reproductive rights moderation\u2014 \u201c<strong>It\u2019s not about Senator Brown\u2019s vote.
