{"id":8761,"date":"2012-09-04T10:40:41","date_gmt":"2012-09-04T17:40:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=8761"},"modified":"2012-09-04T10:40:41","modified_gmt":"2012-09-04T17:40:41","slug":"democrats-release-party-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2012\/09\/04\/democrats-release-party-platform\/","title":{"rendered":"Democrats Release Party Platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">When I read the Republican Party platform, some of it actually sounded fairly good, until I considered the infinite gulf between what Republicans say and what Republicans do.&#160; This morning I got up early to read the Democratic Party platform and found it refreshingly in line with actual Democratic policy.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; float: left\" title=\"4demlogoplat\" alt=\"4demlogoplat\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/4demlogoplat.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"360\" \/>Democrats unveiled a party platform at their national convention Monday that echoes President Barack Obama\u2019s call for higher taxes on wealthier Americans while backing same-sex marriage and abortion rights.<\/p>\n<p>Delegates will vote Tuesday to adopt the platform that reflects the president\u2019s argument that his work is unfinished and he deserves another four years to complete the job.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2018Today, our economy is growing again, al-Qaeda is weaker than at any point since 9\/11, and our manufacturing sector is growing for the first time in more than a decade.
