I have not always been kind to Harry Reid (D-NV).  I nicknamed him the Nevada Leg Hound<\/em>, because, when he has encountered Republican opposition, he has often humped a few GOP legs hoping for votes, whined, rolled over and played dead.  That was not the case this week.  Reid has Romney\u2019s panties in such a big bunch, that it\u2019s hard to tell which Willard is doing more: whining or etching his sketch.  But the rest of the story is even better.<\/font><\/p>\n

\"4romney-shoe-shine\"Senator Harry Reid\u2019s decision this week to hurl a taunting, unsubstantiated accusation at Mitt Romney is hardly out of character for the cantankerous Democratic leader of the Senate, who revels in provocative comments and once called Mr. Romney \u201ckind of a joke.\u201d <\/p>\n

On a personal level, Mr. Reid has long been publicly contemptuous of Mr. Romney, the presumptive Republican nominee and a fellow Mormon. In 2008, he said Mr. Romney would have been \u201ca tremendous drag\u201d on the Republican ticket. Last year, he said Mr. Romney \u201cdoesn\u2019t stand for anything.\u201d And in the last month, he has said that Mr. Romney could not be confirmed as a dogcatcher or a cabinet secretary. <\/p>\n

But Mr. Reid\u2019s latest series of tart-tongued volleys  \u2014 in which he cited an unnamed source who claims Mr. Romney has not paid taxes<\/a> for a decade \u2014 have generated more than the usual outrage from his Republican colleagues and from Mr. Romney himself, who on Friday spent a second day condemning the remarks\u2026 <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Willard lied to ABC News, and there is no reason to believe him now.<\/font><\/p>\n

The irony here is that Willard once did the exact same thing to a Democrat that Reid is doing to him. The difference is that when Willard was doing it, he was refusing to release his own returns, as Rachel Maddow explained.<\/font><\/p>\n

Now I can’t say whether or not Harry Reid’s source is correct. However, the political heat Willard has taken for refusing to release his returns could only be worth taking, if the contents of the returns are even more damaging. ‘Trust me’ just does not cut it. Because Willard has already been caught lying about the contents of his tax returns, his word has no value, and he deserves no trust.<\/font><\/p>\n

I cannot help but laugh at Willard’s indignant attitude at being on the receiving end.
