Perry.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\"><a href=\"http:\/\/s217.photobucket.com\/albums\/cc83\/TomCat1948or2\/Blog%202009\/UpdateReichWingCoup_248C\/Newsmax.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Newsmax\" style=\"border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin: 0px 10px 0px 0px; border-right-width: 0px\" height=\"244\" alt=\"Newsmax\" src=\"http:\/\/s217.photobucket.com\/albums\/cc83\/TomCat1948or2\/Blog%202009\/UpdateReichWingCoup_248C\/Newsmax_thumb.jpg\" width=\"213\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a> Since it published &#8212; and removed &#8212; a column describing the possibility of a military coup to &quot;resolve the Obama problem,&quot; conservative magazine Newsmax has gone into full damage control mode, distancing itself from the columnist. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\">The columnist, John L. Perry, &quot;has no official relationship with Newsmax other than as an unpaid blogger,&quot; a spokeswoman said in a statement. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\">That&#8217;s not quite the wording on his Newsmax<\/font> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkingpointsmemo.com\/documents\/2009\/09\/coup-columnist-john-perrys-long-history-with-newsmax.php?page=3\" target=\"_blank\">biography<\/a><font color=\"#000000\">. There, Perry is described as an &quot;<strong>award-winning newspaper editor and writer<\/strong>&quot; who &quot;<strong>contributes a regular column to Newsmax.com<\/strong>.&quot; <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\">He&#8217;s also a former senior editor for the site, working in that role from late 1999 until October 2001. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\"><strong>Perry has written for the site regularly &#8212; nearly every single week &#8212; since November 1999<\/strong>. Newsmax was founded in 1998.
