{"id":8250,"date":"2012-07-03T09:31:30","date_gmt":"2012-07-03T16:31:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=8250"},"modified":"2012-07-03T09:31:30","modified_gmt":"2012-07-03T16:31:30","slug":"the-republican-health-care-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2012\/07\/03\/the-republican-health-care-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"The Republican Health Care Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Republicans were taken so aback by the SCOTUS decision on Obamacare, that they did not have a lock-step evasion planned for reporters, wanting to know what comes next, if they can repeal Obamacare.&#160; Here are excerpts from a couple of articles and an excellent video that illustrate the Republican health care plan, RepubliCare.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">First, here\u2019s Mitch McConnell (R-KY).<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"3McConnell\" border=\"0\" alt=\"3McConnell\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/3McConnell.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"323\" \/>Mitch McConnell\u2019s appearance on Fox News Sunday was remarkably revealing \u2014 it showed as clearly as you could want that the Supreme Court decision is finally forcing Republicans to declare what, exactly, they would replace Obamacare with if they realize their goal of repealing it entirely.<\/p>\n<p>Pressed by Chris Wallace to say what he would do to insure the 30 million people who will get insurance under Obamacare, McConnell at first dodged the question, instead launching into a litany of complaints about the law. He repeated the debunked claim that it would cut $500 billion from Medicare. Asked the question again by Wallace, McConnell actually laughed and said he\u2019d \u201cget to it in a minute,\u201d before claiming the best thing we can do for the health system overall is to get rid of the law and all of its \u201ccuts\u201d to health providers. He labeled Obamacare a \u201cmonstrosity\u201d and vowed that there would not be a \u201c2,700-page\u201d Republican reform bill.<\/p>\n<p>Asked a third time how Republicans would insure those 30 million people, McConnell said: \u201c<strong>That is not the issue<\/strong>. The question is how you can go step by step to improve the American healthcare system.\u201d \u2026 [<em>emphasis added<\/em>]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Inserted from &lt;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/2012\/07\/02\/2879039\/covering-30-million-is-not-the.html\" target=\"_blank\">Miami Herald<\/a>&gt;<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Apparently RepubliCare is so bad that McConnell does not even want <em>Faux Noise<\/em> sheeple to know what it is.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Next, here\u2019s John Boehner.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"3Boehner\" border=\"0\" alt=\"3Boehner\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/3Boehner.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"404\" \/>House Speaker John Boehner vowed on Sunday to repeal the Affordable Care Act, saying the law, which the Supreme Court ruled as being constitutional this week, should be &quot;ripped out by its roots.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;This has to be ripped out by its roots,&quot; Boehner said in an interview on CBS&#8217;s \u201cFace the Nation.\u201d \u201cThis is government taking over the entire health industry. The American people do not want to go down this path. It has to be ripped out and we need to start over one step at a time. <\/p>\n<p>Boehner said that once the entire law is repealed, lawmakers can discuss individual measures. &quot;We can have a common sense debate about which ought to stay and which ought to go,&quot; he said\u2026<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Inserted from &lt;<a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/video\/house\/235799-boehner-pushes-repeal-wants-health-law-ripped-out-by-its-roots\" target=\"_blank\">The Hill<\/a>&gt;<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Quack, quack for the duck!
