I have delayed posting on the Eric Massa situation until there was something more definitive on the issue.  The right wing blogosphere talking heads were drooling blood in anticipation of Massa\u2019s hour long interview with their most rabid TV wing-nut, Glen Beck.  Consider this from Limbaugh:<\/font><\/p>\n

\"GOPKoolAid\"<\/a> Eric Massa, the ex-congressman who Rush Limbaugh celebrated at length on his show yesterday, once went on a YouTube tirade blasting Limbaugh as a "schoolyard bully" and a "pompous coward" whose show is "destructive to this country."<\/p>\n

The cognitive dissonance between Massa’s past identity as a fiery Democratic congressman and his new role as what Politico calls<\/a> a "conservative media hero<\/strong>" is likely to get even more intense tonight when Massa is interviewed by Glenn Beck.<\/p>\n

Limbaugh presents a striking example.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, Limbaugh spent a lengthy chunk of his show [pig delinked<\/em>] promoting Massa and his charge that Democratic leaders forced him out of Congress. "We’re doing our part here to make it a national story<\/strong>," Limbaugh said, adding that:<\/p>\n

"This guy is as fired up as anybody I’ve ever heard anywhere opposed this, and the process and how they’re getting it done<\/strong>. This guy is going to have so much support from people<\/strong>."\u2026 [emphasis added<\/em>]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Did you see the expressions on Beck\u2019s face?  What an idiot!! \ud83d\ude08<\/font><\/p>\n

As for Massa, it\u2019s clear that he\u2019s not a stable individual.  If he is, I think I understand his issue, because I see it frequently in my volunteer work.  For whatever reason, he never learned to develop boundaries that would enable him to tell the difference between what is and what isn\u2019t appropriate behavior.  I hope he gets some professional help, and I wish him well.  He may be a few cans short of a six pack, but he tried to do great things for the progressive cause before the stress became more than he could manage.<\/font><\/p>\n

As for Beck, I loved every minute of his pathetic attempts to cajole Massa into revealing the dirt that Massa didn\u2019t have.  Far more off the wall that Massa, Beck is several plantations short of a tea bag.  Even if he were sane, he would still be a foul misanthrope.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
