Nobody can doubt that Willard Romney, aka Switch Hit Mitt, is a prodigious master of the Etch-a-Sketch, skating away from issues without fail, albeit with the grace of a six hundred pound ballerina.  But Willard refuses to sit on his laurels.  In addition to Etching his own Sketch, he is now trying to Etch others\u2019 Sketches at the same time.<\/font><\/p>\n

\"22RomneyScott\"Mitt Romney\u2019s presidential campaign asked Florida Governor Rick Scott to tone down his statements heralding improvements in the state\u2019s economy because they clash with the presumptive Republican nominee\u2019s message that the nation is suffering under President Barack Obama<\/strong>, according to two people familiar with the matter.<\/p>\n

Scott, a Republican, was asked to say that the state\u2019s jobless rate could improve faster under a Romney presidency, according to the people, who asked not to be named.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s unfolding in Florida highlights a dilemma for the Romney campaign: how to allow Republican governors to take credit for economic improvements in their states while faulting Obama\u2019s stewardship of the national economy. The improvements in these state economies stems from federal spending in the stimulus plan, which did considerable good, despite Republicans watering it down.
