{"id":8047,"date":"2012-06-15T10:46:55","date_gmt":"2012-06-15T17:46:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=8047"},"modified":"2012-06-15T10:46:55","modified_gmt":"2012-06-15T17:46:55","slug":"which-future-economy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2012\/06\/15\/which-future-economy\/","title":{"rendered":"Which Future Economy?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">America, to abuse a clich\u00e9, stands at a crossroads,where the decision we make in November will profoundly effect on our future.&#160; Some of those effects involve whether or not seniors, students, minorities, LGBT folks, and especially women will be relegated to second class citizenship.&#160; But today, I want to focus on the economy.&#160; Which future economy is right for you?<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"15Obama\" border=\"0\" alt=\"15Obama\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/15Obama.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"360\" \/>Framing his re-election bid as a stark choice between government action to lift the middle class and a return to Republican economic policies that he said had caused a deep recession, <strong>President Obama on Thursday called the presidential decision facing Americans a clear-cut one that will determine the long-term trajectory of the economy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis November is your chance to render a verdict on the debate over how to grow the economy, how to create good jobs, how to pay down our deficit,\u201d Mr. Obama told enthusiastic supporters at Cuyahoga Community College here. \u201cYour vote will finally determine the path that we take as a nation \u2014 not just tomorrow, but for years to come.\u201d &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;Point by point, the president listed the Bush-era economic and policy choices \u2014 embraced by Mr. Romney and Congressional Republicans \u2014 that he said had led to the recession of 2008 and 2009: tax cuts for the wealthy, deregulation, spending on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that was added to the deficit. \u201cI don\u2019t believe that the government is the answer to all of our problems,\u201d Mr. Obama said.
