{"id":7941,"date":"2012-06-05T10:49:22","date_gmt":"2012-06-05T17:49:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=7941"},"modified":"2012-06-05T10:49:23","modified_gmt":"2012-06-05T17:49:23","slug":"no-answer-is-an-obvious-no","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2012\/06\/05\/no-answer-is-an-obvious-no\/","title":{"rendered":"No Answer is an Obvious NO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Mitt Romney, aka Switch Hit Mitt, has been faced with a dilemma of late.&#160; He can\u2019t tell the truth, because if he did, he\u2019d only pull 10% \u2013 20% of the electorate, but every time he lies about anything at all, somebody has the audacity to bring up a video of him saying the exact opposite.&#160; That\u2019s easy to do, because Mitt has taken firm and irrevocable stances on both sides of every issue.&#160; Now he is just avoiding issues, such as where he stands on the Paycheck Fairness Act.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"5equalpay\" border=\"0\" alt=\"5equalpay\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/5equalpay.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"241\" \/>Nearly 50 years after the Equal Pay Act was passed to end the \u201cserious and endemic problem\u201d of unequal wages, women in America still make only 77 cents on the dollar compared with men. Yet many Republicans remain willfully oblivious to the fact that pay inequity persists.<\/p>\n<p>In Congress, the majority has been unwilling to stand up for women\u2019s economic security by supporting moderate legislation like the Paycheck Fairness Act. <strong>Even GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney refuses to say whether he supports the Paycheck Fairness Act<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Just weeks ago, conservative pundits like Alex Castellanos and Dana Perino deemed unequal pay for women a \u201cmyth\u201d and a \u201cdistraction,\u201d respectively. Other pundits actually said that equal laws for women would result in lower pay for men. If women are paid equally, that means the millionaires, billionaires and corporate criminals, who own the companies cheating women, will have to pay them more.
