As I mentioned in yesterday\u2019s Open Thread, Bart \u2018Coat Hanger\u2019 Stupak is at it again, trying to hold heath care for millions of Americans hostage to destroy women\u2019s right of choice over their own bodies.  Here Rachel Maddow further exposes Stupak\u2019s connection with C Street, Washington’s theocratic bastion, infamous for sex scandals and attempting it to impose the death penalty in Africa for the crime<\/em> of being gay.<\/font><\/p>\n

In the interest of disclosure, I admit that I personally believe abortion is wrong.  However, I also believe that in some circumstances there are no right choices available, and of those that are, abortion may be the least wrong.  I also believe that I do not have the right or prerogative to impose my belief on anyone other than myself.  Therefore, I have no right to tell a woman what medical choice she should make, let alone try to impose it through legal means.  Neither does Stupak.  Women must remain free to make this choice for them selves, in consultation with their doctors, according to their own consciences and beliefs, with no interference from me, Stupak, or anyone else.  I want Abortion to be safe, legal, available, and as rare as reasonably possible.  The best way to achieve that is through education about and availability of other methods to prevent pregnancy.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
