Presidential candidate, Rick Santorum, has been greatly inconvenienced by the \u201caspirin tablet between the knees\u201d joke by his own private millionaire, Foster Friess.  First, he assumed a victim stance.  Then, after all his rhetoric against birth control in recent weeks, Santorum actually tried to present himself as a birth control supporter.  One has to wonder if he took lessons from Romney.<\/font><\/p>\n

\"18MisogynySantorum\"Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum took a page from former House Speaker Newt Gingrich\u2019s playbook on Friday and lashed out at CBS News for asking him about a major supporter who dismissed the need for contraception<\/a> by saying women could put an aspirin \u201cbetween their knees.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is someone who is a supporter of mine and I\u2019m not responsible<\/strong> for every comment a supporter of mine makes,\u201d the candidate told CBS host Charlie Rose. \u201cIt was a bad joke. It was a stupid joke. It\u2019s not reflective of me or my record on this issue. \u2026 This is the same gotcha politics that you get from the media<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody said you were responsible,\u201d Rose explained. \u201cThey said, how would you characterize it and what had you said to him, not that you were responsible? It\u2019s to understand how you differ from what this person said.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is what you guys do<\/strong>,\u201d Santorum charged. \u201cYou don\u2019t do this with President Obama. In fact with President Obama, what you did was you went out and defended him against someone who he sat in a church for \u2014 for 20 years \u2014 and defended him that, \u2018Oh, he can\u2019t possibly believe what he listened to for 20 years.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a double standard,\u201d he continued. \u201cThis is what you\u2019re pulling off, and I\u2019m going to call you on it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rose noted that as late as last October<\/a>, the former Pennsylvania senator had said birth control was \u201cnot OK\u201d… [emphasis added<\/em>]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
