{"id":7153,"date":"2012-02-16T00:05:27","date_gmt":"2012-02-16T08:05:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=7153"},"modified":"2012-02-16T00:05:27","modified_gmt":"2012-02-16T08:05:27","slug":"another-faux-noise-whopper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2012\/02\/16\/another-faux-noise-whopper\/","title":{"rendered":"Another Faux Noise Whopper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">It isn\u2019t hard to understand why national studies have determined that people who get their news from the Republican Ministry of Propaganda, aka Fox, are more poorly informed that people with no access to news of any kind.&#160; Perhaps the reason is that, any time the truth fails to set a good beat for goose-stepping, they make up whatever imitation truth will suit their propaganda needs.&#160; Recent economic reports have been good for America, and therefore bad for the Republican Party.&#160; Leave it to <em>Faux Noise<\/em> to make up a whopper to cover-up the truth.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/FoxProp.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"FoxProp\" border=\"0\" alt=\"FoxProp\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/FoxProp_thumb.jpg\" width=\"292\" height=\"402\" \/><\/a>Several Fox News co-hosts on Wednesday continued to suggest that there may be a conspiracy to increase President Barack Obama\u2019s chances at re-election by manufacturing better-than-expected employment numbers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat does the good economic news \u2014 <strong>if you believe these numbers<\/strong> \u2014 mean for President Obama\u2019s fortunes?\u201d asked co-host Brian Kilmeade&#8230; Carlson explained. \u201cAnd I guess, guys, that kind of makes sense because some of the numbers that we have been reporting: unemployment has gone down, more jobs have been created.\u201d&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;\u201cNow, you can argue about how those numbers \u2014 some people say \u2014 <strong>are fabricated<\/strong>,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"FoxSheep\" border=\"0\" alt=\"FoxSheep\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/FoxSheep.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"261\" \/>Last week, co-hosts on the same morning show implied the Obama administration was \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rawstory.com\/rs\/2012\/02\/06\/fox-and-friends-invents-conspiracy-labor-dept-cooking-the-books-for-obama\/\">cooking the books<\/a>\u201d when it came to the improving employment numbers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There is no evidence, however, that the Department of Labor has been fabricating employment figures<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The department gathers unemployment data with a monthly poll called the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bls.gov\/cps\/cps_htgm.htm\">Current Population Survey<\/a> (CPS). The sample is representative of the entire nation, comprised of 110,000 individuals, or 60,000 participating households split by geographic region. The bureau says their methodologies eliminate the potential for a wide margin of error to significantly distort the overall unemployment outlook.
