{"id":7081,"date":"2012-02-11T00:03:15","date_gmt":"2012-02-11T08:03:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=7081"},"modified":"2012-02-11T00:03:15","modified_gmt":"2012-02-11T08:03:15","slug":"more-from-the-republican-war-on-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2012\/02\/11\/more-from-the-republican-war-on-women\/","title":{"rendered":"More from the Republican War on Women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">In the front lines of the Republican War on Women are the standard issues of abortion and birth control, and they serve two valuable purposes for the Republican Party.&#160; First they keep Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians goose stepping without realizing that Republicans do not represent their well being.&#160; Second, they detract attention from what Republicans want to avoid: the economy.&#160; However the seamiest side of the Republican War on Women, the side that should provoke as much outrage as the standard issues, receives very little attention.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"GrassleyHat\" border=\"0\" alt=\"GrassleyHat\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/GrassleyHat.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"239\" \/>What Republican war on women? The Violence Against Women Act was reauthorized in 2005 by unanimous consent in the Senate and with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.govtrack.us\/congress\/bill.xpd?bill=h109-3402\" target=\"_blank\">415<\/a><font color=\"#0066cc\"><\/font> votes in favor in the House, and signed by George W. Bush. It&#8217;s up for reauthorization again now, and of course, this time, Republicans have a problem with it. The bill\u2014which is actually cosponsored by Idaho Republican Sen.
