{"id":6808,"date":"2012-01-18T00:05:20","date_gmt":"2012-01-18T08:05:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=6808"},"modified":"2012-01-18T00:05:20","modified_gmt":"2012-01-18T08:05:20","slug":"america-opposes-key-republican-goal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2012\/01\/18\/america-opposes-key-republican-goal\/","title":{"rendered":"America Opposes Key Republican Goal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">When you come right down to it, Republicans are not hard to figure out, if you keep in mind that everything Republicans do is to further one of two key Republican goals.&#160; The first is to transfer wealth from the poor and middle classes to millionaires, billionaires and corporate criminals.&#160; The second is to establish a permanent, election proof, Republican one-party regime to last for 1,000 years.&#160; Republicans keep saying that American voters want to do away with excessive regulation.&#160; This lie serves the first goal.&#160; American voters do not agree.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"18money\" border=\"0\" alt=\"18money\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/18money.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/>The Post just released a new finding from its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-srv\/politics\/polls\/postabcpoll_011512.html\" target=\"_blank\">new poll<\/a><font color=\"#0066cc\"><\/font> that goes directly to the heart of the big argument over capitalism and economic unfairness that will decide Campaign 2012. It finds that a sizable majority sees the current economic system as inherently unfair in a way that favors the wealthy, and sees this as a more serious problem facing America than government regulation of the free market: <\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; font-family: \"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">What do you think is the bigger problem in this country \u2014 unfairness in the economic system that favors the wealthy, or over-regulation of the free market that interferes with growth and prosperity?<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; font-family: \"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>Economic unfairness : 55<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; font-family: \"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>Market overregulation: 35<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Among the 55 percent who see economic unfairness that favors the wealthy as the main problem say Obama is better equipped than a GOP candidate for president to deal with it, 35-15. Not surprisingly, those who see market regulation as the problem overwhelmingly see the GOP candidate as the best equipped to deal with it<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Post polling team gave me a partisan breakdown. <strong>Moderates see economic unfairness on behalf of the wealthy as a bigger problem than market overregulation by 59-29<\/strong>.
