{"id":6508,"date":"2011-12-13T00:08:06","date_gmt":"2011-12-13T08:08:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2011\/12\/13\/why-people-vote-republican\/"},"modified":"2011-12-13T00:08:06","modified_gmt":"2011-12-13T08:08:06","slug":"why-people-vote-republican","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2011\/12\/13\/why-people-vote-republican\/","title":{"rendered":"Why People Vote Republican"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">The question I hear most as I go about my day to day work of bringing news to people, that is admittedly and proudly biased, but also factually honest, is: \u201cHow can anyone in their right mind vote for a Republican?\u201d&#160; It\u2019s a good question, given that Republicans govern exclusively for the benefit of millionaires, billionaires, and corporate criminals, and do NOT represent you.&#160; The best answer I can give is that Republicans live in a completely different reality.&#160; For the record, I am not a fan of David Frum, a rather extreme Bushavik, and oppose his views on almost every subject.&#160; But when an opponent gets something right,. integrity demands that I give credit where credit is due, and on this subject, Frum is spot on.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"FoxSheep\" border=\"0\" alt=\"FoxSheep\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/FoxSheep.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"261\" \/>Conservative columnist David Frum, who was speechwriter for former President George W. Bush, blasted Fox News on Sunday for creating an &quot;alternative knowledge system.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/nymag.com\/print\/?\/news\/politics\/conservatives-david-frum-2011-11\/\" target=\"_blank\">an article<\/a> published by New York Magazine in late November, Frum had argued that <strong>conservative media like Fox News and talk radio &quot;immerse their audience in a total environment of pseudo-facts and pretend information<\/strong>.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>In an appearance on CNN Sunday, Frum cited claims made on Fox News that President Barack Obama was proposing a &quot;new Christmas tree tax,&quot;
