The story started when extreme right-wing bloggers misinterpreted a dubious story in an Italian newspaper.  Then Glenn Beck an Andrew Breitbart jumped on the bandwagon, insuring beyond beyond doubt that it could not be accurate.  Given that level of lunacy, only one person could be expected to join in at that point, the Queen of InsaniTEA herself, Michele Bachmann.<\/font><\/p>\n

\"28bachmann\"Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann said Monday that it would be "foolish" to normalize trade with Cuba because Hezbollah could soon have "missile sites" there<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

"Why would you normalize trade with a country that sponsors terror?" the candidate asked a crowd of supporters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. "There is reports that have come out that Cuba has been working with another terrorist organization called Hezbollah. And Hezbollah is looking at wanting to be part of missile sites in Iran and, of course, when you are 90 miles offshore from Florida, you don’t want to entertain the prospect of hosting bases or sites where Hezbollah could have training camps or perhaps have missile sites or weapons sites in Cuba. "<\/p>\n

Bachmann was most likely basing her fear on an unsubstantiated report from the Italian publican Corriere della Sera, which was picked up by numerous conservative websites earlier this month\u2026<\/p>\n

…Even if that report were true, it makes absolutely no mention of "missile sites."\u2026 [emphasis added]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Bachmann said that during the Reagan administration the US was the number one creditor nation in the world, but now under Obama, we are the number one debtor nation.  With this lie, she implied that the debt we are facing is Obama\u2019s fault.  However, what she is not admitting is that the US was the number one creditor nation at the beginning of Reagan\u2019s presidency, before Ronnie had an opportunity to change that.  Let\u2019s not forget where that debt actually came from.<\/font><\/p>\n
