{"id":5945,"date":"2011-09-26T00:01:53","date_gmt":"2011-09-26T07:01:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=5945"},"modified":"2011-09-26T00:01:53","modified_gmt":"2011-09-26T07:01:53","slug":"the-real-voter-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2011\/09\/26\/the-real-voter-fraud\/","title":{"rendered":"The REAL voter fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Republicans continually complain about voter fraud as a an excuse to enact draconian laws to disenfranchise poor and minority voters.&#160; Of course this is a Republican lie.&#160; The Justice Department, acting on orders from GW Bush, conducted a five year investigation and found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2007\/04\/12\/washington\/12fraud.html\" target=\"_blank\">virtually no evidence of voter fraud<\/a>.&#160; Of course voter fraud does happen, but DOJ was looking in the wrong place.&#160; The real voter fraud is not from illegal voters defrauding elections.&#160; It is from Republicans defrauding voters.&#160; For example, Arizona State Senate President, Russell Pearce,&#160; is facing a recall election over his draconian policies, including Arizona\u2019s racist, illegal \u201cpapers please\u201d law, mismanagement of state funding, cuts to education, and more.&#160; To muddy the waters in that election, he is defrauding Arizona voters by setting up a Teabagger pal to run in the election as a moderate, thus siphoning votes away from Pearce\u2019s main opponent in the race, a more moderate Republican.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"25pearce-cortes\" border=\"0\" alt=\"25pearce-cortes\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/25pearce-cortes.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>&#8230;On the verge of blowing up into an irreparable scandal for Pearce, the self-proclaimed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.salon.com\/news\/politics\/war_room\/2011\/08\/03\/biggers_russell_pearce\" target=\"_blank\">&quot;Tea Party President&quot;<\/a><font color=\"#0066cc\"><\/font> and first senate president to face a recall election in American history, a series of blatant efforts by his campaign supporters <strong>to fraudulently set up the sham candidacy of Olivia Cortes to undermine his main opponent&#8217;s support<\/strong> has unraveled into a damaging comedy of errors. <\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">After the Secretary of State&#8217;s office <a href=\"http:\/\/www.azcentral.com\/news\/election\/azelections\/articles\/2011\/09\/24\/20110924recall-bid-vs-pearce-fraud-2nd-claim-says.html\" target=\"_blank\">deferred<\/a><font color=\"#0066cc\"><\/font> on an investigation into Cortes&#8217; campaign for fraud, long-time Mesa Republican Mary Lou Boettcher and attorney Tom Ryan filed a <a href=\"http:\/\/issuu.com\/skryan\/docs\/verified_statement_of_election_contest?mode=a_p\" target=\"_blank\">suit<\/a><font color=\"#0066cc\"><\/font> yesterday in the Superior Court of Maricopa County for a &quot;verified statement of election contest.&quot; Boettcher, the co-founder of one of the oldest Mesa Republican women&#8217;s clubs in 1962, contends: <\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Olivia Cortes is currently listed as a candidate for the office of Senator for LD 18. Upon information and belief, Contestant alleges Ms. Cortes <strong>is a registered Republican and a member of the &quot;Tea Party<\/strong>.&quot; Ms. Cortes is <strong>a well-known supporter of recalled Senator Russell Pearce<\/strong>. Upon information and belief Ms. Cortes has voted for Russell Pearce.
