Anytime Democrats mention that millionaires, billionaires, and criminal corporations should share in the sacrifice to repair the damage to our economy, that they and their Republican lackeys caused, the decent thing would be to give back a small part of the largesse gained as a result of Republican welfare for the rich.  Instead, Republicans have fallen back on the old accusation of class warfare.  An attendee at an Elizabeth Warren event video recoded her.  Contained in that video is one of the best counters for the Republican class warfare lie that I have ever heard.<\/font><\/p>\n

Scott Brown in Massachusetts, is turning out to be one Democrat who is not shying away from the Republican cries of \u201cclass warfare\u201d against President Obama\u2019s proposals to raise taxes on those with very high incomes \u2014 instead offering up a full-throated rebuttal about the benefits that the wealthy were able to obtain from society at large, and the need to give something back.<\/p>\n

In a video of a recent Warren appearance, posted online by an individual who says he or she is not affiliated with the campaign<\/strong>, Warren answered the charge. \u201cI hear all this, you know, \u2018Well, this is class warfare, this is whatever,\u2019\u201d Warren said. \u201cNo. There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own \u2014 nobody.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police-forces and fire-forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn\u2019t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory \u2014 and hire someone to protect against this \u2014 because of the work the rest of us did\u2026 [emphasis added<\/em>]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
