{"id":5899,"date":"2011-09-21T00:05:03","date_gmt":"2011-09-21T07:05:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=5899"},"modified":"2011-09-21T00:05:03","modified_gmt":"2011-09-21T07:05:03","slug":"id-pay-more-to-lose-bill-oreilly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2011\/09\/21\/id-pay-more-to-lose-bill-oreilly\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;d pay more to lose Bill O&rsquo;Reilly!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Ever since Barack Obama unveiled his proposal for the rich to pay back some of the hoards of wealth that accrued to then from years of Republican class warfare, rich Republican lawmakers and media types have enjoyed a fine vintage whine.&#160; Foremost among them is Bill O\u2019Lielly, famous for hate speech that encouraged the death of Dr. Ben Tiller, and subject of many retorts from progressive hero, Keith Olbermann.&#160; O\u2019Lielly is threatening to quit, but sadly, he is doing what he does best: lying.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"21OLielly\" border=\"0\" alt=\"21OLielly\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/21OLielly.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"328\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Bill O&#8217;Reilly threatened to quit his show if President Obama raised his taxes.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on his Monday show, O&#8217;Reilly delivered a stinging rebuttal to Obama&#8217;s speech from earlier in the day. In that speech, Obama <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2011\/09\/19\/obama-deficit-plan-buffet-rule-taxes-medicare_n_969403.html\" target=\"_blank\">introduced his so-called &quot;Buffett Rule&quot;<\/a> and said that the rich should pay more in taxes. This did not sit well with O&#8217;Reilly, who accused Obama of using misleading statistics and of endangering the business climate.<\/p>\n<p>He used himself as an example, <strong>saying that he could not ensure his continued tenure on Fox News if his taxes were raised to 50 percent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;My corporations employ scores of people,&quot; he said. &quot;They depend on me to do what I do so they can make a nice salary. If Barack Obama begins taxing me more than 50 percent, which is very possible, I don&#8217;t know how much longer I&#8217;m going to do this. I like my job, but there comes a point when taxation becomes oppressive. I\u2019d pay more to lose him, but sadly, it\u2019s time to debunk the entire thing.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">O\u2019Lielly is lying about the tax rate.&#160; Under Obama\u2019s proposal, O\u2019Lielly would pay 39%, up from 35%, not 50%.&#160; He is also lying about what he would do.&#160; When he first joined the Republican Ministry of Propaganda, aka <em>Faux Noise<\/em>, the tax rate was 39%.&#160; He did not hesitate and has thrived from misleading sheeple.&#160; If his taxes are raised to what they were then, there is no reason to believe he would do anything different than what he has been doing.&#160; He also lied that successful people could not be so under the Obama plan.&#160;
