{"id":5533,"date":"2011-08-05T00:22:56","date_gmt":"2011-08-05T07:22:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=5533"},"modified":"2011-08-05T02:01:14","modified_gmt":"2011-08-05T09:01:14","slug":"republican-racism-on-msnbc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2011\/08\/05\/republican-racism-on-msnbc\/","title":{"rendered":"Republican Racism on MSNBC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Of the mainstream networks, I like MSNBC the best, because they have Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O\u2019Donnell and Ed Schultz.\u00a0 However, they make up for it by featuring Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan in the morning.\u00a0 As wing-nuts go, Scarborough is probably more sane than most, but Buchanan is more typical of Republican politicians and pundits.\u00a0 He is notorious for frequent racist comments, such as referring to to the recent victory of Republican terrorism over Obama as \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/current.com\/shows\/countdown\/\" target=\"_blank\">nailing the coon skin to the wall<\/a>.\u201d\u00a0 Now he has even put his racism in writing.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in;\" align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"GOPRacism4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/GOPRacism4.jpg\" alt=\"GOPRacism4\" width=\"500\" height=\"339\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in;\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">MSNBC contributor and <a href=\"http:\/\/mediamatters.org\/research\/201107290005\" target=\"_blank\">long-standing bigot<\/a> Pat Buchanan has a new book coming out called: <span style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?<\/em><\/span> This upbeat future \u201cbest-seller\u201d will hit the shelves in October, but this morning, Politico Playbook provided those waiting with race-baited breath a preview of the wisdom within. Chapter 4, entitled \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/playbook\/\" target=\"_blank\">The End of White America<\/a>,\u201d lauds:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u201c[The] radicalization of the working and middle class, such as occurred in the Truman-<span style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>McCarthy era<\/strong><\/span>, during the <span style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>George Wallace campaigns<\/strong><\/span>, and in the anti-amnesty firestorm that killed the Bush-Kennedy-McCain push for a path to citizenship for illegal aliens.\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in;\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">To Buchanan \u2014 a member [racists delinked] of the Sons of Confederate Veterans \u2014 these \u201cmovements\u201d shared a \u201cpopulist rage\u201d and a \u201csense that they are losing their country.
