Webb&#39;s infrared optics detect extremely faint heat signals, and the Earth, Moon, and Sun are *all* much too bright and hot for us to ever look their way. It&#39;s why we have a sunshield: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tTGIWqFAz8\">https:\/\/t.co\/tTGIWqFAz8<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/wRTZNO4i6u\">https:\/\/t.co\/wRTZNO4i6u<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; NASA Webb Telescope (@NASAWebb) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NASAWebb\/status\/1775629331357642755?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 3, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Even more outlandish is the fact that the viral tweet celebrating the <em>\u201cJSWT photo\u201c<\/em> is <u>NOT<\/u> actually a photo, but a hand-drawn homage to an actual photo of the eclipse \u2013 AND it was of the 2017 total eclipse!<\/p>\n<p>The inspiration for the drawing was a composite of 35 HDR images of the 2017 eclipse taken by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.astrobin.com\/users\/SebastianVoltmer\/\">Dr. Sebastian Voltmer<\/a><\/strong> who has a PhD in the field of Scientific Photography.<\/p>\n<p>And the artist who was inspired by his photograph was <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Cathrinmachin\/status\/1777501891968000069\">Cathrin Machin<\/a><\/strong> who posted an Instagram time-lapse video of her 10-day project to hand-draw a reproduction.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/cathrinmachin\/p\/CC3S10SgYoc\/?img_index=1\">Have you ever seen an eclipse in person?
