{"id":5306,"date":"2011-07-05T02:11:56","date_gmt":"2011-07-05T09:11:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=5306"},"modified":"2011-07-05T02:11:56","modified_gmt":"2011-07-05T09:11:56","slug":"children-left-behind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2011\/07\/05\/children-left-behind\/","title":{"rendered":"Children Left Behind"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">When I first learned about No Child Left Behind (NCLB), I thought it was a good idea, but that was before I learned more.&#160; I did not realized that the way Bush achieved such success with the plan in TX was to push failing students out of the system, before they could bring down the scores.&#160; I did not know that the mandate for states to implement the program came without federal support, and that Republicans were about to cut revenue sharing for education.&#160; Instead of going to to NCLB, the money went to No Millionaire Left Behind, the only successful Republican program.&#160; Now I know better, and NCLB is on the brink of failure.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; float: left\" title=\"5nclb\" alt=\"5nclb\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/5nclb.jpg\" width=\"322\" height=\"379\" \/>With the clock ticking, federal education officials fear that calamity awaits. <\/p>\n<p>If Congress doesn&#8217;t move quickly to change the No Child Left Behind law, they project that <strong>a whopping 82 percent of the nation&#8217;s public schools could fail to meet proficiency targets this year, facing sanctions that ultimately can include a loss of federal aid<\/strong>.
