{"id":4944,"date":"2011-05-28T02:17:54","date_gmt":"2011-05-28T09:17:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=4944"},"modified":"2011-05-28T02:17:54","modified_gmt":"2011-05-28T09:17:54","slug":"more-republicare-for-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2011\/05\/28\/more-republicare-for-women\/","title":{"rendered":"More RepubliCare for Women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Republicans have spent far more time trying to end women\u2019s reproductive rights than they have spent on any other issue, since they gained control of the House.&#160; Their hate speech, especially that which justifies violence, has led to more than one death.&#160; It would have resulted in more death, had not the intended perpetrator acted with a Republican level of incompetence.&#160; As if that were not bad enough, Republicans are introducing legislation to give legal cover to such hate criminals.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; float: right\" title=\"28Lang\" alt=\"28Lang\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/28Lang.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"375\" \/>A man has been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2009\/05\/31\/george-tiller-killed-abor_n_209504.html\" target=\"_blank\">arrested<\/a><font color=\"#0066cc\"><\/font> after traveling to Madison, Wis. with the alleged intention of killing abortion doctors.<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ralph Lang, 63, was charged by federal prosecutors Thursday for attempting to injure or intimidate a person who provides reproductive health services. He traveled approximately 100 miles from Marshfield, Wis. to Madison on May 25. He is scheduled to appear in United States District Court on Friday.<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">According to a Madison police <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityofmadison.com\/incidentreports\/incidentDetail.cfm?id=12136\" target=\"_blank\">incident report<\/a><font color=\"#0066cc\"><\/font>:<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">A 63-year old man was arrested by Madison Police Wednesday night after he discharged a handgun inside his motel room. The round hit two doors, but there were no injuries. The man immediately told motel staff about the gunfire, saying it was an accident. He offered to pay for damages.<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">According to federal prosecutors, Lang <a href=\"http:\/\/host.madison.com\/wsj\/news\/local\/crime_and_courts\/article_5270b430-87e9-11e0-a9e5-001cc4c002e0.html\" target=\"_blank\">told<\/a><font color=\"#0066cc\"><\/font> Madison police that <strong>he had the gun &quot;to lay out abortionists because they are killing babies.&quot;<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">He was arrested at 9:51 pm at a Motel 6 just 1.2 miles away from Planned Parenthood: Madison East (CRHC)&#8230; [<em>emphasis added<\/em>]<\/font><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Inserted from &lt;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2011\/05\/26\/madison-abortion-clinic-mass-murder_n_867822.html\" target=\"_blank\">Huffington Post<\/a>&gt;<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Admittedly, this man has to be at least somewhat deranged, but I cannot accept the argument that Republican misogyny is not responsible for setting off nut cases like Lang and Loughner.&#160; Planned Parenthood echoes my thinking.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; float: left\" title=\"28PP\" alt=\"28PP\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/28PP.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"165\" \/>The leader of Planned Parenthood Wisconsin responded on Friday to the arrest of an armed man who had come to Madison allegedly murder abortion providers at one of the group\u2019s clinics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnti-abortion proponents and <strong>legislators who vilify the health care that Planned Parenthood provides truly embolden people who think it\u2019s OK to take the law into their own hands<\/strong>,\u201d said Teri Huyck, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin. Phil Jensen, which would have allowed <strong>the use of the &quot;justifiable homicide&quot; defense for killings intended to prevent harm to a fetus<\/strong>. Now a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nebraskalegislature.gov\/FloorDocs\/Current\/PDF\/Intro\/LB232.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">nearly identical bill<\/a> is being considered in neighboring Nebraska, where on Wednesday the state legislature held a hearing on the measure.<\/p>\n<p>The legislation, LB 232, was introduced by state Sen. Mark Christensen, a devout Christian and die-hard abortion foe who is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.necitizen.com\/Profiles\/showinfo2.pl?ids=mchristensen,fshoemaker\" target=\"_blank\">opposed to the prodedure<\/a> even in the case of rape.
