There is a new China crisis according to Republican state Representative Jarrod Martin.  It reminds me of my childhood.  My parents used to tell me, \u201cClean your plate.  There are starving children in in China.\u201d  Too young to recognize the fallacy in that decree, I obeyed.  Of course, the children were still starving and I got fat.  Martin\u2019s crisis is that China has too many smart children.<\/font><\/p>\n

\"12martin\"During a rally in Columbus for Janet Porter\u2019s Heartbeat Bill, which would criminalize abortion in the vast majority of cases<\/a>, Ohio Republican State Representative Jarrod Martin came up with an economic rationale to pass the legislation: to help the U.S. compete with China.<\/p>\n

Martin argued<\/a> that since there are far more Chinese students taking AP classes than American students, the U.S. needs to ban abortion so women will have more children in order to rival China\u2019s academic dominance…<\/p>\n
