Yesterday was more of the same.  My eyes continue to improve gradually.  I now can type without holding one eye shut, but cannot accomplish much.  I remain current on replies.<\/font><\/p>\n

From Miami Herald<\/a>: <\/font>[Obama] will nominate CIA Director Leon Panetta to lead the Defense Department, replacing Secretary Robert Gates, who is retiring. Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of forces in Afghanistan, will retire from the military and would become the new CIA chief.<\/p>\n

Panetta at Defense is OK, but Petraeus at CIA?!!? What is he thinking?!!?<\/font><\/p>\n

From USA Today<\/a>: <\/font>Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval announced he intends to appoint U.S. Rep. Dean Heller to replace John Ensign in the U.S. Senate.<\/p>\n

The Obtuse Angle will likely get the Republican nomination to replace Heller.  I hope the Democrats put up a viable candidate.<\/font><\/p>\n

From Think Progress<\/a>: <\/font>Last night, ThinkProgress was in attendance for a Fort Lauderdale town hall where Rep. Allen West (R-FL) took a different approach: pre-screening all questions. Not only were all questions pre-approved by the congressman\u2019s staff, but the attendees were not even permitted to ask the screened questions themselves; staff members read the questions instead, lest a constituent ask an unscripted question.<\/p>\n
